From my own experience in applied research, I’d expect that 1) selling the importance of research to stakeholders is harder than it seems and is an ongoing battle, and 2) you end up dealing 1:1 with subjects/users negativity that can be a downer if you’re not in the right mindset. Anything else to expect?
