4 months. Work for a boutique firm, around 40 hours a week. 60k. Raleigh. I am really happy as of now but we will see how it goes as I am delegated more work as I become more experienced.
I feel like I don’t work nearly as many hours as some of the other general posts on this app (big law), but I do feel constantly anxious, even when I’m not at work. But I can roll in at 9:30 and leave at 5, which I love. I have to work weekends every once in a while, but it’s not that common. Year 3 of practice and I make $70k in Tennessee. Basically, my job would be perfect if I didn’t have to deal with these crazy clients.
Working 50-70 hours each week. Small boutique firm. Paid $60K/year, no bonuses. Salt Lake City, UT. I HATE it. You are everyone’s punching bag and clients are rarely, if ever, happy, even if you get a huge win. Because it’s family stuff, I am essentially on-call for my clients 24/7 and have not taken a vacation where I wasn’t still expected to work multiple hours each day. I’m interviewing at other firms right now for anything NOT related to domestic law.
I’ve been with my firm a little over 3 years (5 years domestic law overall). And I have an average caseload of 40-50 cases.
