Don't hate me but seeing all the airport drama on Monday mornings makes me feel a little better about how I earn substantially less but don't have to travel in federal consulting.

Airport drama is not that intense. Folks here play it up for attention

like

Nothing wrong with that, to each his own

like

Do we earn less? Damn.

like

Only thing that sucks, we do the same thing just no travel

like

I know I do 😒

like

Eh I've seen both sides and I would never go back to Fed. If you don't have major obligations and the right personality to roll with the occasional Monday morning drama, then I think it's well worth it. Difference in scope of work, pace, pay (in some instances), bonding on the projects (in some instances), trying new things on someone else's dime (eg food or team activities), reduced personal expenses during the week, and the free(ish) vacays are pretty dope to me. But like A1 said, to each their own.

like

D1 so do we

If I put up with all the pointless bullshit they did, I would wanna make more than the people who get local travel too.

Commercial consultants travel 80% of the time spending many nights in lonely hotels in not-so-cool cities. I wouldn't do it for less than a 35% pay increase.

☝️☝️☝️

I have a small but steady network of commercial folks. I will try and get myself on one of those projects for the experience.

Question for moms. I’m getting married next year and have several close family members that will have babies ages 8-11 months old by then. What are some ways I can support the moms and make it an enjoyable experience for them? We have a separate room at the venue that I was thinking could be offered to the parents to use, or potentially hiring a babysitter for them (either at the venue or back at the hotel). I would love for the families to be able to come, as it is out of town.

I need to make a decision by tomorrow:
Current base salary: $55k
Current bonus: 10.5% (~$5k)
Vacation: 2 weeks
*been with company for 4 years. Started as a product data analyst out of school.

New offer base salary: $90k
Bonus: 12% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

Counter offer: $80k
Bonus: 14% (~11k)
Vacation: 3 weeks

The new offer would require significantly more travel. I have a young family and value time at home. My heart is telling my to take the counter offer from my company.

Fishes,
I was selected for product based organisation but a third-party consultancy scheduled interviews and followed with them till offer release.
They(consultancy) are calling me sometimes and checking with me whether everything is good to join( i think they might get some money if I join)
But i see it was downgrade in technology in that organisation so I might not join in product company.
How do I convey them I have 20 days remaining?
