Think we all need to take a step back and realize that the hours we work are objectively ridiculous. We'd have much less brain drain and burnout in the industry if we quit perpetuating this mentality and had a little more respect for our own and our colleagues' health and existence
Want some pepper w that salt?
God forbid they have a break in a long work day
Maybe VPs could help draft slides too? In a time crunch, VPs should write the bullets
Hey Josh, I know you hate me but please don't expose me on here
I bet half those slides won't survive the MD mark up
This VP is still up working after drafting every single slide of the book and having done 1/3 of the pages myself, thank you very much.
Jk I don't know who the OP is
@DB1 I think productivity would greatly go up in Ibanking if people recognize that bankers actually have uneven work flows and can have nothing to do from 9am to 5pm and only have work assigned at 5pm. Instead of allowing more flexibility with office time (ie if you don't have anything assigned relax at home, but be ready to make it into the office in 30 minutes if something happens like a doctor), senior bankers like to perpetuate the myths of nose to ground constant work, which means rather than relaxing during those downtimes people only get further exhausted and don't have energy once they're finally given a task.
Did you give him the mark up at 10PM? Put it in perspective, if he had that dinner before you gave it to him, I see no issues.
^good one
9:30AM markup, folks, FWIW
I think the best solution is for people to actually get fired - analysts included. I know my firm doesnt ever fire analysts because it would 'look bad' on campus and to the PE firms we do biz with and who hire analysts.
^Raymond James lol
That sucks, I'm sure your junior team appreciates the help
^speak for your own team. sounds like recruiting isn't going too hot for Barclays...huge surprise there.
Junior bankers are shit these days
Lol. Ok. And where are you working that's so amazing?
@PEA1 I routinely come in at noon when there's no work to be done in the morning, but am always ready to make it to the office in 15 minutes.
@barklaid a US bank, champ.
