Weddings gifts. So there is a bridal shower, lingerie shower and the wedding itself that you are expected to get gifts for? Was it always a thing? Weddings I’ve been in when i was younger only had bridal showers and have only gotten wedding gifts, none of the invitations except for the wedding invite even mentioned gift registries. we’ve just gotten back from a bachelorette party and got a bridesmaid dress. Then we’re paying for our hair and makeup. It’s starting to add up to be expensive!

I’d like to be prepared for the initial phone screen convo, which will only last 20-30 minutes. The JD shows the salary range as 110-130(USD) commensurate with experience, but I’m happy to land anywhere in that range—yet I don’t think it’s good to disclose that. How can I tactfully still talk to the recruiter about landing closer to 130? Not trying to be greedy, but certainly aiming high!

I got an offer from a big 4 firm in a senior role for 140 base- I had initially been pushing for 150 but the written offer came back as 140. after the written offer comes in are things still negotiable? One time I was having a horrible day at work and left at 4pm, drove directly to a Thai restaurant and picked up enough food for 4 people. Then I drove to a wine shop and picked up a bottle of red. Then I went home, took a shower, got in bed, put all the containers of takeout around me and poured myself a massive glass. I put on a movie and stayed there until most of the food and the wine was gone. Felt much better.
