Any Infosys I Folks (Current or Ex) I have variable pay of 1.5 lakh in my CTC. They told me you will get 50% of that for first 6 month of joining in quarterly manner.
After 6 months how much usual they pay, what are the factor of consideration for calculation of variable pay? I am billable from second week following my joining.

Do just enough work to keep from getting fired. Find that sweet spot of mediocrity and ride it.

Peer pressure outside of work? I’m very deliberately not friends with people who value this line of work above integrity, relationships, etc. I’m friends with very few consultants/corporate types and the friends that are consultants are very transparent about hating corporate America and only doing it for the cash.
I make 6 figures, and it happened pretty young. I can technically support a family on my own if I want, everything else is extravagance and hoarding IMO. And while I will obviously go on to make more because of inertia, I can do that without hustling to double or triple my income because that’s simply not important to me. The year I did about 20% of my capacity at work is also the year I got my highest raise. It’s about being well connected and strategic about navigating to well-invested groups, not hustling. People see a hustler and they know they can take advantage of that energy. My respect goes to people with iron solid boundaries, willingness to limit crazy scope, and a fascinating and varied life outside of work.
If I don’t respect the values of society at large (I don’t), then I’m certainly not losing sleep about what ‘they’ see as a shortcoming. And the people I want in my life on a peer level understand that and agree wholeheartedly. I would hate for my relational value to be my money or my corporate job. I want it to be my compassion, my loyalty, my dedication to community, my sociopolitical integrity- none of these is aided or proven by the corporate ladder.
