I tend to dance in my chair in the audit room depending on the music I'm playing. Sometimes I'm in a podcast kind of mood :)

And what type of music is that @EY1

Varies from Disney soundtracks, hip hop, freestyles. Holiday music during random times of the year.

Slow jams honestly

Sounds lovely @KPMG2

I’m 36, earn 100k and I work maybe 30 hours a week, and I’m a shining star. It allows me to enjoy life without stress. I can linger around and see myself (slowly) climbing the ladder. But part of me wants to put in hard work and grow a lot in my career and earn more for a stable financial future, but it means I’ve got to work more and stress more and I’m worried I won’t get time to relax and enjoy my life as before. But also I’m worried I’ll slack off. Anyone going through this? Would I regret?

Ladies that have had experience with a sick parent - I just found out tonight that my mom’s doctor found 2 lumps in her breasts. I’m freaking out and don’t know what to do. I found out by evesdropping - she told my bf because she wants to make sure he’s around for me. They don’t know I heard and I’m trying to hold it together in secret. They don’t know results till next week but my mom has her doctorate in nursing and it seems like she thinks the worst. She had cancer 6 years ago and it was...

I work at a credit union and inherited a small book. Came across people w their money being in their 80s/90s. I'm new, but also dont want to waste time on appts that don't go anywhere.

Lesson learned: when in APAC do not ask your client to take you to their favorite restaurant. Wound up eating "turtle sex organ soup" and century eggs last night.

We just experienced our first meltdown with 2 kids under 2. We scheduled back to back dr appts for me and our toddler so my husband had to drive and bring everyone. However my appt was running late so my husband had to also bring the baby to the toddler appt. Baby was fussy and cried. Toddler decided to be clingy, did not want to walk and wanted to be carried. My poor husband had to wheel a crying baby and while trying to balance a toddler throwing a tantrum to the doctor’s office where they...

One of my Kinders refuses to go to the bathroom at school. I have a bathroom in my classroom and there is a bathroom at the playground. He will hold it until he wets his pants. I have tried everything that I know of to get him to use the bathroom. I’ve talked with my principal and the school counselors and have tried everything that they have come up with. Nothing is working. Mom and dad both say that this is the only place he does this at. He will go just fine outside of school. Suggestions?

Got an offer from a big firm. I’m currently working at a small firm. The pay increase would be about 20% not including bonus. My concern with big law is obviously the stress level and billable hours but the small firm life concerns me long term because there’s only currently 6 lawyers and we just lost an office.

At what point is it considered optimal to make the jump from Big4 to FAANG? I've been a Tech Consultant at EY for a little under a year and, while I like the company very much, I do very little actual technical work. Experienced hire, Senior, 130k base. I'm very tempted to jump over to Amazon (despite their reputation for frugality). Do I attempt to make the switch now or wait until I get promoted to Manager?

I have roughly 1.5 YOE at a top 10 firm, half in audit half in TAS, no CPA. I’ve applied to and received referrals for pretty much all big 4 and other 10 firms. For the ones who gave me a phone screen or first round interview, I was told they’d like me to have more YOE before considering me. Yet I see folks on here with 1.5 YOE in just audit getting senior roles in TAS at these same firms. I believe I’m personable and decent at interviewing. Any ideas on why I’m not getting any offers?
