Dont you think 2-3 months notice period is atrocious?

Yeah it is, but companies set it as a norm to engage in hiring and the transfer of duties to another employees.

I understand why they have it in place but it is so frustrating when I'm working somewhere that I'm dying to move on from lol.

It is meant to be atrocious 😅. It's to punish you. How could you think of leaving? Got higher package? Suffer here first.

It goes both ways. Yes it is hard to get a job with 3 months notice period, but once the employee has one offer, there are 3 months to search for other opportunities too. And that's generally the case.

Long notice periods like this are ridiculous. I wish this system would go away.

Those working in consulting at big 4..are you constantly seeing yourself working 50+hrs during Covid and just being told to keep doing it? To what extent can we push back? Just because we are home doesn’t mean we don’t have family obligations as well... expectations up front are never communicated so I don’t find out I’ll be working long until I start a new client....meanwhile many colleagues are working 40hrs consistently but pay is same.... not a complainer but something’s gotta give
