Hi. I’ve been working in group homes for eight years and I’m looking to transition out of the field. I am hoping to at least maintain my current pay and have similar benefits, but I’m at loss as to what to do. I have a lot of life experience but no degree and I’m 50 years old. I just can’t do this kind of in-home work anymore, as it’s emotionally and physically draining. Even though I love it to some degree, the nature of the job just burns people out. So.. ideas?

I recently moved into an affluent area of the Upper West Side in NYC, and it's really nice, but I'm getting annoyed that I have to walk like 7 blocks to the nearest McDonald's, Taco Bell, or non-gourmet grocery store. What is it called when you live in an area where you're only surrounded by healthy food options, and it sucks because you have to walk several blocks to find fast food? Is that a food desert? I feel deprived of convenient and accessible meals.
