I used to be a lifeguard in college! Easiest way to learn is hang onto the edge with your hands and practice going horizontal and kicking your feet! This gets you used to being Horizontal in the water. Next get a pair of goggles and practice holding your breathe underwater for 10-20 seconds at a time. You'd be surprised at how many people can learn SUPER easily, but are just scared to get their head under water. I used to teach kids and I'd tell them to do this and that fear is completely gone after a few rounds. Next after that practice doggy paddling in a super shallow area while kicking your feet like in step one. Then boom. You're basically a swimmer :)

Completely agree with SBA1’s approach. I’d take you up on this if we find a useable pool. Not a strong swimmer myself but have been swimming since 4. Can’t do butterfly or dolphin but I have swam out pretty far into the ocean and back :)

Including breaststroke/backstroke/freestyle/doggie paddle?

Just one is enough lol, I’m not prepping for Paris 2024
