BCG fish I need advice. Currently interviewing for a Consultant level role, they mentioned it was generalist track and it’s located in the south region. If I have experience and an affinity to work within healthcare would I be able to network and get staffed on healthcare engagements regardless of region? Don’t want to get stuck in energy work or another industry if that’s what ends up happening. Boston Consulting Group

Hi Fishes, I cleared all the rounds of Deloitte USI and also filled pre hire survey a month back. Now the CRM is telling me that the position is on hold. Is there any hope that they'll hire me?
I'm a Microsoft Dynamics and C# Developer at a Big 4 consulting firm. But... working with Dynamics for the last 5 or 6 years is starting to wear on me. The salary is great because there is a shortage of qualified Dynamics developers, but I want to do something else, even if that's just back to being a run of the mill C# Developer. Maybe this is more of a rant or I'm letting off steam, but has anybody on here ever essentially gone from a specialized type of roll to more general role?
I have a salary range in mind for a new role based on online research and target increase from my comp now. But my research shows the data points are for salaries in HCOL areas. Do I need to adjust what I ask for if it’s a remote role and I’m not in HCOL city? Don’t want to overshoot and lose a great opportunity.
Has anybody interviewed for a KPMG AAS senior associate role recently? How did the interview go and was it both behavioral and technical? I am currently working in audit and am interested in making the switch.
I’m a sr manager currently at an it consulting firm that is willing to take a M role at Deloitte (trans ops) - 15 yoe in Nashville. What is the salary range I should ask for? Is 150- 180k to low?
Anyone ever make the jump to work for a non-profit? Paid position? Hard to find a position? Hard to make the transition? How do you get in the loop on what is available? Was it as fulfilling as you imagined?
I was offered a position at Deloitte for ~26k more than I’m making currently, but they told me that in 2.5 years when the contract is over I will be out of a job. Obviously I’ll be able to network within those two years and probably find something more permanent, so it’s very similar to gig work at BAH. I also just started a new project at BAH last month so I feel uneasy leaving after a month. Can someone at Deloitte give me more insight about PDM work at the company?
I’ve seen some ads for crypto/blockchain/fintech legal positions. Does anyone with exp in these areas mind speaking of what’s it’s like? Seems like a ton of in-house exit opps in this area with fast growing companies (for obvious reasons)
In final rounds with Deloitte GPS for a project delivery model role and is seeming like there will be a guaranteed offer. BAH recruiter just reached out for a role with their digital transformation practice. Should I consider the BAH role over project delivery role? I’ve heard project delivery model is a death sentence and am having second thoughts.
Reposting in this bowl since it’s a little more active and I’m desperate for input. My little sister is being raised in a less than ideal environment and has already been through some trauma before I met her/ before her mom got with my dad. Outside of opening a UTMA account for her, is there anything else I can do to ensure she has what she needs to leave as soon as she’s 18?
I’ve been interviewing for Director of Product Marketing roles at late stage startups in hyper growth mode. In my last 2 hiring manager interviews, they’ve not asked me any questions outside of having me share a bit about myself. I was in the earlier days of a FAANG company, so perhaps there’s an assumption they already know how I’d build/lead a team or execute. Both have wanted to offer the time for me to ask them questions with little questions in return. Is this expected or lack of prep?
Hill Holliday is hiring! EVP of Growth is a priority but we have a bunch of other openings. https://www.hhcc.com/careers
For Google, how is the Global Solutions ladder (Global Product Lead role) compared to a Strategy and Operations role / ladder in terms of compensation and exit opportunities? I’d like to figure out which one to apply to, both seem to fit well with consultant skill sets.
May is Mental Health Awareness. My memoir is being published this month.”My Crazy Summer: God, medication and me”. It tells of the stress of working in consulting and shows there is hope and light at
Pros/cons of going from a big 4 firm to a national, regional or advisory specific firm at a higher level? Is it worth it?
A moment of silence for all the little things left in hotel rooms ☹️ goodbye long time hairbrush, I’ll miss u
Soooo... what is dating like as a consultant? Starting full-time soon at MBB (post-MBA), single. Based in Atlanta. Terrified it’ll be awful, hoping anyone has advice/good experiences 😬
Any one here from Duff & Phelps (Kroll)? I need reference for an open valuation position. I can provide job ID. Please let me know. Thanks.
Which among the FAANG has the best work culture
life lessons to exist (not prosper) in consulting.... say what you mean. May offend a few folks but people will trust you and come to you for honest opinions and observations. others?
Anyone here ever worked with a vocal coach? I need recommendations for a lesson or two before auditioning for a pseudo professional chorus group...
Have you ever run into a situation where you asked for more money (either a raise or when negotiating an offer) and you got it and regretted it? What are the strings attached to more $?
Why do people want to work for UMM/MF? I feel likes it’s a rat race follow the heard mentality with little long term upside (you get paid a bunch for two years but then what?). I’m really keen to go the MM but feel like I’m making a mistake the way my friends talk about it…. In my mind a small younger growing fund is such a better opportunity — more learning, exposure, promotional potentially, and, hopefully, culture. What am I missing?
This may be a dumb question, so bear with me. But what kind of work differentiates a mid-level from a senior at your firm? I know that most firms generally classify associates by class-year, but I’ve noticed that the “caliber” of work we’re given doesn’t necessarily correlate with class year once you’re 3-4 years in. Asking because I want to make sure I know what I’m worth once comp discussions occur 😀
Any Transfer Pricing or ITS attorneys here who successfully made the jump from big 4 to big law? Any advice?
Looking for a Tudor black bay 58 with black dial on nato? Tourneau in NYC on Madison and 53rd has one. I bought it last night then exchanged it just now for the leather strap. Call them and ask for Semsa and tell her the guy who just swapped for the leather told you. Unfort unless you’re an existing tourneau customer they won’t ship to you Good way to use that $500 chase sapphire reserve rebate for Tourneau. They also have a Tudor GMT Pepsi in stock
Can you apply to the same Big 4 position in different cities? Will each location be aware you’re doing it?
Hi all, I would appreciate your thoughts - I’ve been really struggling to adjust to long-term WFH and just have been extremely unhappy with it (feelings of isolation, burnout, hopelessness). I realize I’m not spending time on commute and such, not wearing uncomfortable clothes, but I’m still really miserable. I feel like most of my daily joy used to come from live interaction with people. I know many of y’all are really thriving on WFH and need your help / thoughts on how best to adjust. TIA!!
