Go to grand haven beach, if you want to visit a non-touristy beach- then saugatuck beach. Don’t miss Founders brewery near GR downtown. Last- Indiana dunes national park on the way back. Sunset view is great there.

I just did this drive yesterday and live in NWI: 1. Dune Park in Chesterton or really any dunes along the way. 2. Michiana Shores and the beach houses along the way 3. HOLLAND STOP IN HOLLAND! 4. Blueberry Farm outside of Holland with wonderful drinks This should keep you busy along the way

Stray Dog in New Buffalo. Pick up some merch while you’re there. 👕 🐶

Agree with Founders in Grand Rapids. Holland is a fantastic town and on your way into GRR.

I have always dreamt of living abroad. A few years in Europe, and then APAC. Transfer plans fell through with covid, and I’m pretty sure they will be delayed due to Delta. Turning 25 this month and feel like that dream is getting farther away. I’ve always been ambitious, but as I’m getting older I’ve realized traveling and exploring other cultures is what truly makes me happy and that’s what I want to use my career in tech to fund. I know this is a first world problem, but has anyone done this?

My husband and I have concert tickets to a big outdoor festival that was cancelled for covid and is now happening in late August. His brothers and some college friends are flying in to stay with us. We just found out we're pregnant and I'll be 9 weeks by concert time. We aren't ready to tell anyone but we can't think how we can ask them to cancel without explaining. We are all vaccinated and are in SF so cases are low, but not zero. Any advice?

It’s my birthday tomorrow so I have been calling my friends to come to the party this weekend (I limited to >10 ppl due to Covid). I was planning to have a lunch drinks/pizza party since I wanted to keep it casual and outdoors, but I have been awestruck because most of them asked about whether they need to chip in for the party food/drinks or if there are hot guys before they said no. I guess I was naive to think they will all say they will come just because it’s my birthday.. kinda sad :(

Since Covid happened, I keep seeing posts about people working longer hours from home than at office. Well has anyone actually achieved the opposite, which is working less hours? You save time on commuting, meaningless meetings, coffee breaks, random questions from coworkers, etc. This question doesn’t apply to parents with young kids.

The number of COVID cases on the rise again, folks. Wear masks and social distance! Here’s hoping the rise in number of cases is just because of increased testing, but the uptick in number of hospitalizations in not good news. This is by no means “disappearing” as the President continues to claim.

Anyone else starting to feel nervous about the extra $600/week unemployment going away? Also, is it just me or does it seem stupidly misguided that the Senate/WH prefer to send another stimulus check instead of extending unemployment benefits? Stimulus checks go to a much smaller subset of the population and aren't necessarily going to help those impacted by COVID layoffs. Not to mention the argument that it disincentivizes people going back to work is dumb when there are no jobs to return to.

Would love some opinions, moms. Because of covid, I’ve kept my kids home since March 2020. I predict we will not have spent $5k on dependent care in 2020 that we elected last year. Almost but not quite. It’s open enrollment time, should I elect the some amount for 2021?

Need YOUR advise. I have a concert tomorrow at a sold out stadium concert. We’re in a Covid surge here with Delta, I am vaccinated but high risk. Should I cancel? Tickets weren’t that expensive. Just not sure how I feel about being with 20K folks. Especially wit the new data from the CDC.

I just learned that my younger adult sibling has been severely, deeply depressed. This surfaced when sib said they needed help moving and the family showed up to find that the entire apartment was under 3-4ft of trash, including a significant amount of rotten food. (Sib has no sense of smell due to past medical issues.) We are floored. Sib is very private and no one knew. With COVID, no one has been in the apartment. Sib’s supposed to be moving across the country, and we’re worried…

Use: Just traveling, reading, etc. have a MacBook Pro, so definitely nota supplement to a laptop. Commenters: “you can buy something other than iPad”. Honest question. When a client asks you a question that you need to refer to the billing attorney (assume it makes sense to do so and copy the client on convo in adding them in) are you all refraining from using the term billing attorney to clarify a role or is it pretty common to do so in client communications? Had one attorney show a sensitivity to the term but never had that happen before. Wondering if that is a common or uncommon sinsitivity?
