Why did WK’s CSO leave for a lower title at 72?

Thank you. This is helpful.
How does that unrivalled work ethic / pride balance with any toxicity? Or to put it another way… is it crazy hours and nice people? or crazy hours and dickheads?
On the whole everyone is very nice and accommodating of all personalities. There’s a bit of cultural snobbery but you’d expect that from people who are making some of the most interesting and fresh work around. Everyone is there to make the best work in the industry and genuinely contribute to culture.
I probably wouldn’t go back because I got the portfolio pieces I needed and I can take my learnings from there and plug them into different places. It’s paid dividends.
I’ve worked there.
Without a doubt the greatest creative environment I’ve ever worked in. A commitment to excellence that’s genuinely inspiring. You leave a better and stronger creative / strategic thinker. Your portfolio will also be stronger. As will your CV. It opened lots of doors for me.
That being said, I’ve never worked longer hours in my life. Evenings, weekends you name it. But it was worth it, and now having worked at 1-2 agencies more since leaving, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. Sacrificing personal life to make work of their quality IS worth it.
So few agencies and so few people take pride in their work like they do.
Kolbusz would of written this x1000 better than me
I wish I could get a job there. Adore the work they make.
I freelanced there for a while and it frustrated me how much the CDs weren’t interested in ideas with any insight and just wanted zany random lolz that could be for any brand. I guess that’s what they’re known for though so 🤷♂️
CSO can’t make eye contact with women and doesnt hire them
