KPMG - 2 years, FS tax. Early promo was influenced in part by the fact that 50% of our manager/SM group left within 2 months

You can make it in 2 if you’re a superstar.

Isnt 2 standard for every firm lol? Every senior manager I’ve met when I look at linked in they were only a manager for two years

3 years. Honestly this is the one you shouldn't rush IF you have PPED aspirations. It's a whole nother ball game to get in pipeline and once you are in pipeline there is little slowing down.

3 years. Isn’t that standard for all the firms?

It used to be 3 at Deloitte, I believe there's a push to 4 years now (starting covid when they were looking for an excuse to reduce promotions at the higher levels)

I could have in three, but waited to four by choice. I’ve seen it done in one (strange circumstance though involving an external hire that was a rockstar).

3 years

2 - FDD, early promo

People of Slalom, what is the culture like in the Chicago office? Would love to learn more about the office environment, types of projects, team structure, etc.

Working remote, house was was too noisy, office too far. Went to hotel lobby half a mile away instead and it felt normal again...

I watched an interview with a psychologist who explained Narcissistic Personality Disorder, and realized this describes my ex to a T. Delusions of grandeur, prone to fits of rage, vain, jealous, thinks everyone is beneath him, entitled. I tried to love him even harder and accommodated every whim to try and make it work. And basically the doctor said that Narcissists don’t change. I’m sad that I wasted 3 years of my life but glad that I’m out. Anyone else healing from dating a Narcissist?

What books would you recommend for someone wanting to get better at sales?

Sorry if this isn’t the right bowl! I was fired from my last job due to performance issues. I filed for unemployment and was approved, however my former employer filed an appeal. I’m not even sure what they’re protesting but it’s making me really nervous. What should I do now?

Flight delayed at gate because passenger felt sick and had to get off... What?!?

What is the most relevant role & position in banks as you exit from mbb as an EM?

Thought the travel grind would resume this month for me and just learned that I have atleast 3 more months without it. This makes me happy and also sad.

Do airlines pay fines for flight delays unrelated to weather? If not, that would probably solve the issue. Thoughts?

Anyone interested in a PwC referral feel free to DM me.

Deloitte HR: if someone is hired in during the freeze (got special approval), is there any chance they would be laid off soon thereafter? Also, what is the % of Deloitte folks getting laid off this?

Does anyone have experience with travelling to Bangalore via Dubai on Emirates? I got a cheap ticket but wanted to find out if there are any flight cancellations. Best part is Emirates is offering free cancellation and changes. TIA!

I’m working for a big 4 and have a suggestion to encourage folks to return to the office. I find I’m more productive overall if I spend a few days a week in the actual home office. However…I don’t want to pay a couple hundred a month on parking. How about reimbursing parking? That would be a valuable perk…versus free bagels and garbage food.

My poor designer has been busting his ass and working overtime to finish a project. He’s about to burn out and lose his mind. What can i do to help/keep him sane?

90% sure I’m about to be fired for sexual harassment (more detail in comments). Should I resign before I’m fired?

Had a low GPA in undergrad due to health issues. Also had to withdraw a class and retake it bc I was busy consulting surgeons to see if I needed surgery at the time. To what extent is it recommended to write about health issues in app additional info section to mitigate low GPA? What type of health issues should be specified vs. what types are seen as excuses? What amount of detail should one provide? Do schools ask for proof?

Does anyone else feel like they’re consistently having to prove themselves every day? I don’t mean usual “trying to go above and beyond at work” I mean the nagging feeling that you might get fired if you don’t accomplish every email task or chat request that may or may not be directed to you. Constantly anxious at this job.
