Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

7:30 and still on a plane, so I guess sushi is on the firm tonight 🤷🏻♀️
@Op as soon as you land home you cannot expense a meal. But anything at the airport your coming from or on the airplane is okay. A lot of people still expense dinner at home since their project is okay with it. Though if you get audited you could get in trouble
Welcome from fed! The policy is once you have landed at home you can’t but a lot of projects are okay with it...it’s kinda a grey area
I grab dinner at airport once I land occasionally when I didn't have time to eat before I left and it would be too late by the time I'm home. At KPMG our policies aren't so specific and it's more common sense, so this is fine.
Ended up buying my own Chipotle yall. Not worth worrying over 8 bucks 😂
the thirst is real with @DD1. Who the hell doesn’t like chipotle?
If you're home by 6 PM, then no. If not, yes.
OP sushi 🍣 would be on your client not Deloitte
Not based on any explicit policy, here’s my rule. If you’re in your home by the time you ordinarily would eat, then no expense. If you eat before then, you can expense. And you can’t alter your behavior to take advantage
Our policy is super clear about this, but people interpret it differently. I personally don’t get it, but there are some tax implications
DD1 exactly. I don’t get why this is a question or why people try so hard to game the system. Hope they all get caught
Thanks dd1 :)
Enjoy the good life in commercial! Based out of DC too :)
DD1 if the policy is so clear then you would have read it. The cost of meals while in transit between the airport and home is typically not reimbursable.
So that’s not so cut and clear. You could get food at the airport once you land and even the wording ‘typically’ allows for interpretation
You can if you buy it in the airport else not.
I know a friend in the firm who was audited and had to pay back anything that was outside the airport
6pm cut off. If you haven’t landed at home by 6, the firm is paying. That fairly common
Also Op it’s your client who pays for it :)
So what exactly is the policy? 🤷🏻♀️
Once you hit ground in home city no expensing. Just not worth it. Know many who got called out on audit. Grab food in work airport if you must to eat there or carry on plane
But then again you could say it’s not a travel meal but just over time meal since you worked more than 8h no?
