I am a Principal Solutions Architect with 13 YOE of which 5 years exp is with Biotech focusing on Public Cloud (AWS) & overall AWS exp. 9 years. I need suggestions /opinions if applying for a Senior Solutions Architect (Level6) at AWS makes sense or if I should aim for a Principal SA (level 7) role at AWS with Healthcare & Lifesciences industry experience. If it makes any difference, I worked for AWS ProServe as an external SA in the past. Any insights / feedback appreciated.

"career advancement" not more money.
But we all know career advancement means more money. It is just the polite phrasing.
If I heard that I wouldn't think "this is refreshingly honest" I would think "this person has no tact and will probably jump ship at the first opportunity." Come up with some polite fiction like you want to take on new challenges. We all know salary is part of it, but don't say that. If you don't speak tactfully to an interviewer, why would I think you'd speak tactfully to a client?
Say career opportunities and the ability to grow yourself. Growing as an employee and gaining more skills equates to a higher salary. It's just the bull shit game we play
It’s better than bad mouthing your current team, but it’s not as good as showing interest in the opportunity... “more money” is my least favorite answer when I ask a coachee why they want to be promoted. My $.02, hope it helps
Don’t It weakens your salary negotiation position later in the game.
"I'm interested in this position because of X, Y, and Z, which will (allow me to take on new responsibilities, learn new things, do cool stuff, grow a beard, etc.). I am happy where I am but am always open to new challenges."
You will also never be happy if you are just chasing bank...
^ not true lol I'm very happy
I want the responsibility of spending and investing a significantly larger pay check.
End of the day, most people switch for money but people don’t want to hear that. Being a consultant, you should know how to sugar coat it and make it sound nice.
Sorry to hear that, OP. If that’s the only reason you’re looking, is your team willing to do an MSA?
That’s why everyone leaves. But you gotta show them you know how to play the game. Especially since you’re a consultant
Oh come on...take the time to craft a bs “your firm rocks because blah blah blah” answer
Lol ugh i wish i could just says it’s all about the Benjamin’s and it’ll be okay. But i shall say for career advancement or something lol. Thanks!
@BA3 an MSA won’t be enough and they’ll probably do it pieces :/
If it's a pure sales position ok otherwise don't say that
Yes. I am looking for more responsibility.
