During an interview, is it appropriate to ask an in house attorney how his or her experience at the company is similar to and different from a law firm?

Nothing inappropriate about that at all. Job expectations are an important part of deciding whether to accept an offer.

Truthfully, I’m trying to gauge whether or not there is a WLB and constant fires but I’m not sure how to ask that. Any insight is appreciated!

That’s always a good question, and they may even ask how you think you’ll handle the transition. During my interviews, asked every attorney from a firm how they handled the transition, what they liked and didn’t like about in-house vs firm, what the hardest part of joining a company was, etc.

Have you ever asked an interviewee what they didn’t like about firm life? Is there a right way for them to answer that?

Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?

Many thanks in advance

What does it mean when you apply to a bunch of jobs for which I am a good fit and you hear nothing back for these jobs? For some applications, I'm approaching two weeks since submission. I did get a call back to the first position I applied to; however, after the lab manager saw how much experience I had he said to release me, far too overqualified, tell him he should be applying to Senior Research Associate positions. I have ten years lab experience.

I set up an interview last week with a company for tomorrow morning, two 45 minute interviews back to back. Of course, today I heard back from my current company I would be getting a raise after having pay frozen since May. Unless it was a very very very good offer, I’m not sure I see myself leaving anymore. The interview is at 8:30 tomorrow morning - what would you in my position? I don’t want to break the connection with this company as I don’t want to have to rule them out in the future

For those of you that are citizen / PR. Do you get tons of Singapore recruiters chasing you for roles which are way out of your focus area, getting interviews done only to be ghosted after? I had a few of these and decided to not entertain anymore. My general feeling is they use me to 1- get a salary benchmark, and 2- check the box to interview an “unqualified” local only to use it as justification to get an EP for a foreigner they were targeting to bring here in the first place.

Job base salary presented by HR during screening interview was $130-$145k. I have 3-5 years more experience and more education compared to the posting requirements (BA required, I have a MS). I love the position and what it entails, but was hoping to reach $150-$160 base salary. If offered the position, is this a reasonable ask? This is for big pharma, data analytics in New England.

I’m a senior sales person that just left my first job (where I was ranked top 10% in sales, worked for 5 years, qualified for presidents club 3 times & was very well known & respected) for a new company that will definitely be better, but I am starting over. Also, working from home for the first time (last job deemed “essential”).
