Very frustrated. Why is it that my union keeps pushing for closing school due to covid? shouldn't we be trying to help keep these kids in school? I work in an urban district, and the kids of lower socioeconomic status are being hurt so much more than our suburban neighbors. How is this equitable?

All vaccines will keep you from dying or hospitalized. But some will be more likely to stop you from getting covid all together. We should be worried about the former rather than the latter.

Debating betwn staying on with current team after negotiating a 30% increase or accepting PT role, with this negotiated increase the hourly pay is $1 different. (Prior to this I was making nearly $11 less/hour from PT role) PT role was 20 hours/week and emailed ask if I’d be open to 30 which is more appealing. 7.5 YOE in current role, worried about losing seniority in economic climate and risk to layoffs in PT role but being a parent I have been seeking more time not working too. My little one has reflux pretty bad - she spits up/projectile vomits after most feedings. I have been dairy free for 7 weeks after they said she might have a milk protein allergy.

Our pediatrician isn’t concerned about her weight, but she said that baby could start solid foods a week before she turns 4 months in an effort to “thicken” her food and have it sit in her stomach better. I was part of the tech layoffs over the past couple of weeks. I have an opportunity to go back in house or back to a law firm. Both are great opportunities and comparable comp. Pro of law firm - stability (less likely to be laid off). Pro of in house - no billable hours. Should I ride out the recession at a law firm until things settle down or take the risk and go back to in house?

I recently started working at a firm that does a lot of legal aid. In order to attract more private clients, they want us to go out and do speaking engagements and volunteer work (on our own time). Furthermore, they started asking us to consider doing per diem duty counsel work to bring up our receivables (aka- work as duty counsel and give them our pay). They asked me if I would be willing to take a lower salary to start because i have no experience in the area they practice (education, employment, etc). Not sure how to feel about being asked to basically take a clerk position for an indefinite period. Is this common?

1. How do I build relationships with my coworkers and managers? Since the pandemic people have been moving farther away from the office making happy hours difficult.
