Nothing about this is normal. Go easy on yourself! However, it’s a slippery slope to depression so please take care and get professional help is needed.

Thanks, C1! What you said is pure wisdom. I mean it.
Before COVID: 6 hrs sleep, lots of fast food, never exercise and a daily nightcap
Now: 8-10 hrs sleep + occasional nap, hardly any fast food & mostly home cooked fresh meals, never exercise & daily nightcap.
This ^^
We’re all depressed and lacking motivation. We do what we do to get through for now
I just ate a bowl of pasta and had a glass of champagne before noon. These people are the worst
Lol same here! I was literally exercising everyday and not drinking at all but 5 months later I’m not exercising and having a drink every night
Sounds like you’re an alcoholic bud

It feels like this too
Normal
Same here...minus the eating well and exercising part at the beginning...and I put coffee in my bourbon instead of the IPAs.

Damn I've been doing it backwards. Coffee in Bourbon sounds better.
I’ve become obsessed with fitness tbh

I’m the opposite, aside from still doing the bare minimum at work 😅 but like C1 said, nothing about this is normal. So I’m rolling with it.

Me too. I was running at noon 3x a week, and working like a madman fearing for my job. Now I have McDonald's for lunch
Half dozen beer a day, from the moment I wake up, not sure how I’ll adjust when this is over
This is precisely what my quarantine has looked like. I wonder what the next few months will turn into 🤪
Rising Star
Wine from 5-10 thrice weekly. Cannot work other than bare minimum. Stare off into space a lot. Rinse, repeat.

Time for a little update. Back on the horse. Been doing martial arts 3-4x per week for the last two months. This led so far to:
- I largely switched alcohol to weed and edibles
- I eat at healthier (this comes with workouts which burn so much that I’m forever in calorie deficit)
- I ride bike min 5 miles everyday
- I did get a raise at work (very small but... it seems they put me on the right track this time) and it wasn’t just handed out, it was because I acted for it and now I feel I’m being taken a bit more seriously. Now, I’m going for more.
- I seem to more aware of what Im doing at any given moment (when you drink, you days go by without you noticing) and I’m more conscious my choices (what to read? What to watch?)
- I still oversleep and nap a lot, but it ain’t a problem at all because I’m sort of ahead of schedule work wise, so have credit for napping during the day (my dog loves those afternoon naps!)
- lost 20lbs. I now wear shirts I couldn’t wear since 2017.
I guess it’s ok now.
I wish I did martial arts earlier...
Like guys, for real, just get a pair boxing gloves and sign for a class

👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 this is awesome! Great job all around! I need to find weed/edible hook up.
You’re my spirit animal
I do the same
I've been going to gyms for 30 years. Right before covid, moved and put a power rack in my basement. Never been bigger or stronger. Can train more frequency and more volume, less time or BS prep, travel, chatter, interruptions. Have 45 minutes between latest meeting and lunch, that's leg day. Take preworkout mid Zoom, workout, shower, back on before 12 turns to 1

I do the same, and looking at it these days I found it very normal. This is what I call enjoying life and not be a slave of my work.
Enjoy.

Same. Normal.
How did you get into copywriting? Seems like a cool job

Sorry, didn’t see it. Just got a notification about this thread I once created (so much in my life changed since!). To answer your question: it isn’t difficult, but takes a lot of dedication and smarts. Hit me up on DM, tell me what you know about this already and I can tailor the advice for you!
