So I’m about to start my interview process for Capital One next week for a Senior Financial Analyst position. My recruiter going give me a prep call on Friday but I wanted any advice that recruiters don’t tell you during the interview process. Also I wanted to ask if Capital One a decent place to work at. I will be working at the one in McLean Virginia if that helps.
Is CIBC capital markets a good investment bank?

Sounds like your former director was actually a video producer as well. A director should not be doing those things but in your defense an AE should not be doing them either.
You were spoiled. You were not the producer. That person was, in addition to being the director.
Something overall feels a bit off here- generally the producer is responsible for budgeting, scheduling, etc. The director needs to know about these things for context when planning his shoot, but generally is not involved in those steps. I’m not sure the specifics of your office or situation, but from a general standpoint those are the traditional roles.
‘His shoot’
The director is responsible for the creative vision, dealing with actors, and keeping the crew and agency happy. Producers help make the shoot happen and figure out the nitty gritty details
You got spoiled! But are you an account manager or a Producer? And typically things you mentioned are done by the line producer
Yeah you’re not a Producer. You’re an Account person. Can’t call yourself a Producer unless you can scope and handle all logistical aspects of a production.
Take Terry Donnelley’s Film Finance course at Scottsdale School of Film + Theatre (SCC) and he will teach you everything you need to do. Look up his IMDB, great guy, remote learning, worth it’s weight in Oscar veneer. Now you have all my secrets

Sounds like you work for a smaller agency and have to wear many hats. I’m guessing the new director isn’t used to jumping in - most producers wouldn’t even want that. But I bet they’d be open to the conversation if you asked. And if you need the help on the shoot, definitely ask. Otherwise give me a call - I’m happy to help ;)
