My supervising partner keeps encouraging me to take vacation time. Everyone else in my group has taken several vacations recently. However, my hours hit rock bottom for several months at the beginning of Covid. It is impossible for me to reach my annual target this year. I have the ability to bill 50+ hours over my monthly target now. I feel like higher up management may disagree with my boss’s outlook, but I am burning out. Thoughts?

3rd year V20 and don’t really have any one partner I’m close with at the firm. Not talking about having very little to do with the file and then sitting at counsel table but more like seeing a file from the start and going all the way to trial. It just seems like everything settles nowadays. I wanted to go to trial for several cases but often find the client would rather settle.

Which MBB generally has the hardest cases? I get the sense it’s BCG (unique questions that you can’t just through a framework at, interesting charts). Math logic is probably McKinsey though.
