My supervising partner keeps encouraging me to take vacation time. Everyone else in my group has taken several vacations recently. However, my hours hit rock bottom for several months at the beginning of Covid. It is impossible for me to reach my annual target this year. I have the ability to bill 50+ hours over my monthly target now. I feel like higher up management may disagree with my boss’s outlook, but I am burning out. Thoughts?
Realized I spent $900 on a United flight that would have only costed 30K miles if I transferred the points from my Chase Sapphire😫😢 (I usually fly American)
Any deloitters successfully negotiated salary during the "comp calls", especially females? I have data points of other salaries but was wondering if anyone had some guidance on how to navigate process
Will opening a united mileage plus credit card speed up my way to get an elite status? I can close it once I get some status. Is that recommended?
D folks: when getting a promo, are there two separate raise percentages, one for the promo and one for performance/merit, or is it just one percentage?
If there are any family or employment law attorneys looking for help with legal drafting, please let me know! I'm licensed in Illinois and have been a freelance legal writer for a few years.
Got offer for 150k with 7.5k bonus. I like the company and the location but it's a pay cut and no relo. Interviews with EY and Accenture this week, Slalom next week. Company wants an answer by 9/11.
3rd year V20 and don’t really have any one partner I’m close with at the firm. I’ve worked for many different people but wouldn’t say I repeatedly work with the same partners (and regardless there is usually a senior associate I report to more than the partner). People know me, but my no means are we “close”. This feels like a major flaw of large practice groups in BigLaw (Corporate), where juniors remain largely anonymous. Tips to fix this / improve relations (especially during remote working)?
I’m a single, mid-30s guy who just moved to Austin. Covid is making it tough to meet new people! Anyone up for hanging out?
Has anyone here worked with a team of remote engineers in Eastern Europe? Anything I should be aware of in terms of cultural differences or behavioral norms? I’m US-based
The real reason you need to be smart to go into consulting is in order to do the math on all those credit card and airline points.
For all those 2015+ grads who went into litigation...have you tried a jury trial? Not talking about having very little to do with the file and then sitting at counsel table but more like seeing a file from the start and going all the way to trial. It just seems like everything settles nowadays. I wanted to go to trial for several cases but often find the client would rather settle.
Which MBB generally has the hardest cases? I get the sense it’s BCG (unique questions that you can’t just through a framework at, interesting charts). Math logic is probably McKinsey though.
Hiring manager: you don’t have enough experience you’re still under 3 years of experience. Hiring manager three weeks later: Hi we have an opening over here, i see that you have 3 years of experience
In final stage of Deloitte USI's research analyst position. Can folks please give an idea of how the company/team culture is? Work timings? CTC i should try to negotiate?
