Pump more often (6-8 times a day) for 15-20 min increments instead of 30min. Drink lots of water and it should bring your supply back.
I normally get clogged ducts and felt them forming on both breasts earlier this week but instead of fully forming my milk supply dropped. I have no clue what happened there but I’ve been implementing everyone’s tips since yesterday. Thanks ladies!

Lots of hydration (water, Gatorade, etc), add an extra pumping session, power pump. When I had my baby I had serious postpartum complications so baby was on formula 90%, around 8 weeks postpartum LC told me we will never EBF. By 12 weeks PP we were EBF, now 17weeks PP and not only are we EBF but I am building my freezer stash. Went from pumping 0.5-1oz in 20 min session to 3-5oz in 20 min session. It can be done, it’ll be a lot of work and dedication but can be done. My motivation was a YouTube video I watched of a mom relactating. Basically she completely weaned and then started breastfeeding again and I was like if that’s possible then anything is possible. Chin up mama, you got this
This is very inspiring. Congratulations mama!

Try power pumping once a day for 3 days in a row. Always helped me get back on track.
It’s all about supply and demand. Less demand, less supply (but also vice versa). Add in another pumping session (even short) if you can manage. Try hands-on pumping where you actively massage the tissue while pumping. Are you exclusively pumping? If not let babe nurse often - they will get more from the breast than a pump can. That frequent nursing will also signal the body to produce more. I pumped for 18 mos at work and nursed until my son was almost 3, and had various periods where I would have to miss a pumping session, traveled, etc - it can be done! If it’s important to you, stick with it, but if it’s causing you stress, supplement or even switch to formula. What’s most important is that baby is fed and mama is happy.
happened to me too....mothers milk tea, and some supplements with fennel and milk thistle helped boost and restore supply again
Thank you for your suggestions!

Could your period be returning? My supply drops drastically right before my period and then returns to normal
I started to soak fenugreek and fennel seeds in water overnight. I then drank the water next morning, this helped with my supply.

I’ve had this happen to me. A big restaurant dinner with enough carbs and protein helps me get back on track.
Dinner plans for tonight solved!
Alternate suggestion:
I exclusively breastfed for 8 months and weaned daytime nursing/pumping recently, just before starting a new job.
I now give him formula (super good, organic stuff- Bobbie) during the day and still nurse him morning and night.
I am SO happy I did this; I feel less stress, happy that he still gets benefits of breast milk, and don’t feel like I’m cheating him or losing bonding time.
Good idea! Mine is 4 months now. Will reach out to a LC this week. Thanks!
