ECD asked me to pitch my idea to client and it’s my first time. I feel like throwing up just thinking about it. 🤢

You’ll be great! The client is just a regular person like you. Write down what you’re going to say and practice until you feel comfortable, preferably in front of someone you trust. My personal zoom trick is to keep my notes on the side of the screen so I can reference them without looking like I’m reading my notes!

I do a similar thing, but I place them as close to eye level with the camera as possible. Works like a charm.

Be honest with ECD. Tell them you’re grateful and that you’re a bit nervous, and could they give you a few pointers.

Practice practice practice! Keep your notes on your screen but try not to read them word for word. And remember that even seasoned people like me get nervous when presenting. It sounds like your ECD has faith in you so have faith in yourself. Let us know how it goes/went!

This is how good careers get great! The more you do this, the better you get at it. Clients love juniors. You all aren’t mean and you don’t dig your heels in and you have nice skin. Practice. Don’t talk too fast. Enjoy it (sounds weird but relish the nerves - it means you’re alive). You’re gonna feel amazing when it’s over.

Every piece of advice on this thread is solid. SC1's advice about having some speakers notes on a separate window is really helpful if you're worried about losing your words. Adding a piece of advice that has helped me through years of big presentations, panels and appearances. I was going to appear on TV a few years back and a veteran journalist told me: have three things you want to say, practice them until they flow naturally, and reply to whatever is the first question with one of them. An emphatic start, even if you have to engineer it, works wonders.

All of this is great but also...have fun. It's a fun business and you're gonna be the best part of your client's day. Enjoy. Also, congrats.

This is a good thing! Be proud of it. Is it remote? Practice a script.

Congrats, this is great news. We all get nervous. And at all stages of our careers. SC1 has great advice. Do it and good luck!

My Senior Manager & Partner are basically “forcing” us to take vacation during the week of 20th Dec and 3rd Jan. They’re saying if we don’t have billable work (even though we’re available to work), we should use vacation days instead of charging time to a GA or PRD code. Is this even legal? I was supposed to go home but can’t because of travel bans. I want to save my vacation days so I can go home in April, not take vacation to sit at home. How do I navigate this?
