My boss does this thing where he'll give comments like, "make sure you include the proper language regarding X." As if we always include X and I'm an idiot for not including X.
When asked if X is a new development in the law, he'll say something like "no its not new, it's something we always do." But then I if I go look at his past drafts, he didn't include X either and only started in the past couple drafts.
Why can't you just say, "I have some new language that I want to start including"?
“This position will pay between $50,000 and $500,000”
I've worked a few places that have salary bands, and that's pretty much what the bands look like. They aren't made public, but if they have to become public, I suspect that's exactly what they'll continue doing with the bands.
Easy way to make this better. For large companies with enough people to make it meaningful… make them post the mean and standard deviation too.

Problem will be managing proliferation of “unique roles”. But would be a start for bigger co.s
I don’t understand this law. There’s so many ways to skirt around it.

While I don’t think it will cease to be the world’s financial capital, articles like this make a good point: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9384177/amp/Twenty-finance-tech-firms-NYC-verge-leaving-Florida.html

This is step 1. Let’s continue improving it rather than letting it stay as-is

What do you mean by “no room for innovation or competition”?
Mind bogglingly short-sighted.
It’s a good start. Next they need to disclose mean and median total comp for similar positions

Ha! Or define disimilar. Again, I still don’t see what the point of this regulation is.
Just a reminder that individual H1B salaries are public information and are title and location-specific
Should the final salary also be public?

I disagree. What’s wrong with opacity? Private businesses should be able to do as they please.
So minimum wage to $5m
