Went in February. I used lady Egypt tours and was pretty happy with them. Whichever company you use, I do recommend having a travel agent or tour company book everything and that you have chauffeurs and guides with you everywhere. It felt pretty safe to me (I am a blonde woman, so I stood out, went with male partner) but this greatly reduced the hassle. Did Cairo, Luxor, Aswan. Would prob skip Aswan.
Traffic/driving is insanity, takes hours to get around Cairo/Giza. You can Uber but it’s easier to have your own car arranged and ready to go, comfortable ride. Occasionally our guide used small bribes to get us past security checkpoints that were moving slowly. You get hassled less by people selling things. Local operators of Nile cruises and other experiences don’t always have websites where you can book directly, you have to go through local guides. Perhaps most importantly, guides are very knowledgeable about history and really made our experience of visiting the sites. If you prefer to do on your own you can. Personally I have never used a travel agency before this and am glad I did.
