hard game != great game
Once you get the hang of it it’s fun. Try playing with friends or summon others for help it’s fun that way
The sign not appearing I spend a lot of time troubleshooting and it only works 100% of the time if you put the sign down first prior to searching for the sign. If she searches prior to you placing it it won’t show up
SE I think you may want to state that this is your opinion. I thought it was fun and compelling. Becoming elden lord was challenging and a really cool achievement. This is not to say the game is without flaw but my opinion is that it is a masterpiece and is second only to the last of us 1.
I played it and only sorta enjoyed it.
Having to resort to Google to figure out story and quest lines was absolutely stupid. I know the hardcore fans love it but to me, if your audience has to resort to external means to figure out what's going on, there's something wrong with the game design itself.
The difficulty I enjoyed. I will say I enjoyed the challenge of some of the fights. However some like the Black Knife Ringleader are just poorly designed fights in general that are less about skill and more about having the right class. Class shouldn't matter, a fight should be winnable with any class as long as the player has the skill.
But overall my main hate goes towards the lack of quest log/objective tracking and lack of story telling. I enjoyed it but I don't think it should win Game of the Year even though I'm fairly certain it will.
Personally Horizon Forbidden West should win but they have bad luck with release windows. HZD launched with Breath of the Wild and HFW launched with Elden Ring. With their luck the third game will launch with GTA 6.
But you shouldn’t have to resort to google if you buy the in game scrolls and stuff.

I have played all fromsoft games. What I didn’t like about elden ring was that it was way too easy. World setting was good but bosses were average. Not knowing where to go was an issue. The world was just too big. I still feel the best souls game was bloodborne
I enjoy it I don't think it's game of the year. I enjoy the exploration and the deeper attention I need to give to get some story.

I agree, but I'll caveat that I'm very bad at it so it's really frustrating to play. I want to explore, but the combat is so depressing.

Try Fallout 4
I actually didnt find the game difficult but world was simply a copy and paste algorithm of the same assets with slightly different colors. The enemies become trivial and the cosmetics are dull and dry. I do like how non-linear the game is but just wish it had more variety in combat mechanics and of course cooler skins. All and all I give this game a 3.56/10
That’s how most open world games are. E.g. Witcher 3, ghost of tsushima etc.
Yeah you don't need Google if you read everything and I mean everything. All the description of weapons and armor. All of it. I've made notes too it eventually comes all together
