I had an online assessment round at Intuit and then a technical round. Both went good. But its been 15 days I am yet to hear back from them. Does intuit send closure/rejection email or is it just implicit? also what is the cooling period for intuit ? and what should be the expected ctc if things go right? 2 or 4 wheel carry ons?
I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

Bergen county has great public schools. I personally was choosing between public and private 10 years ago and public is better imo. It definitely comes with high property taxes but Wyckoff, Ridgewood, Glen Rick, Northern Highlands have a lot of options growing up and students are pretty successful afterwards.
Westchester
This. OP, some fantastic towns in Westchester that aren’t more expensive than those parts of Jersey. Would recommend looking outside White Plains - more like Bedford Hills, Katonah, etc
New Jersey for sure. Connecticut sucks. I’ve lived in both. I can’t stress enough how much Connecticut sucks. NJ has a lot of character, great food, real close to philly, DC, and Baltimore. Great schooling and more business. You’re more likely to go to philly than Hartford I would imagine
Why does Connecticut suck so bad?
Greenwich or New Canaan, avoid Stamford and Norwalk in CT for schools
I grew up on Rye, great public schools. Closer than Greenwich, 35 min into the city. Smaller community, definitely better than white plains. Happy to give more details, feel free to DM
Bergen County and Morris County are both about 45 min from city by train or bus
In CT you can’t go wrong with any of: Greenwich, New Canaan, Darien, Westport or Ridgefield. Source: went to one of these school systems and was light years ahead of college peers
Anything between Summit and Basking Ridge is a pretty good bet. Madison, Chatham, Westfield, etc. Depends how old your kids are but public schools in Hudson country are generally pretty shitty so you might want to avoid
Plus NYC is way closer to NJ. You can even make it down towards central jersey. Princeton area public schools get you into ivys if you maintain a 3.5 and are personable. Bergen county is great schools. Morristown is a great area. Jersey and it’s not even close. Not even close
Grew up in Greenwich and man the public schools were good. Actually my brothers got pulled out of the private school to switch to public just based on the experience.
Hoboken and Exhange Place (which is officially jersey city) both have shit public schools. Bergen has good schools as others have mentioned. Princeton is at least a 1.5—2 hour commute one way to NYC but if you fly a lot, as opposed to going to NYC, then that shouldn't be a problem. Princeton schools are great. Have heard there are regular issues with Mta trains from CT in to NYC
Montclair has some of the best public schools across all of NJ. And it’s about a 30 min bus ride into midtown Manhattan.
Be careful of assuming all the public schools in a county are good or bad. Bergen has a lot of school districts that are either really good or really bad. You need to look at specific towns/districts
The rating for elementary school doesn't seem to be so high. What did I do wrong
Can anyone provide some insight?
I'm considering Exchange place, Hoboken, weehawken, white plains (NY), Greenwich, or even New Cannan and West Port both of which are about 1 hour away
NJ
Hoboken actually has reasonable elementary schools but the high school is awful. Also family friendly. Won’t pass comment on the other areas
Thank you all for the kind input. I really appreciate it. I will include these places in my house hunting trip.
