Embarrassing ADHD moments? I'll start

1. Drove home 2 hours tonight only to realize 2 hours later that I forgot my laptop bag

2. Went out of town and left meat out the freezer. Called an uber driver to use my padlock to get into my place and put it back

3. Driven off with the gas pump in my car. Twice

4. Walked in, paid for gas, walked out, got in my car and drove off

5. Forgot gyro meat in my air fryer for 2 weeks.

Oh god I didn’t realize these things were my adhd...

C2 that was my impression! Wasn’t being malicious OP. Mommy brain is a thing. You should have seen the outrageous things my mother did growing up. My old housemate didn’t have ADHD but was one of the most inattentive people ever. Forgetting things all over the place. Being overtired, overworked, stressed with lots of thing on the go impairs your cognitive ability impacting your concentration and short term memory. It is more “normal” than I think we realize or give attention to. That’s why for me I have to keep my life very organized and structured with proper sleep so my brain can function properly.

Any advice for healthier eating, or eating in general, when dealing with a particularly stressful time? I struggle with inflammatory stomach issues as it is, and the stress has been piling up and making it much worse lately - I’m either nauseous or have no appetite (or both). I recently switched to Strattera (had been on Adderall for 6 years) to see if it’d help my sleep issues. Been taking for 6 weeks total, almost 4 at the current dose. My focus isn’t too bad, but I’ve been feeling really… blah… and unwell later in the day and not as motivated overall. Also been having more obsessive impulses, though my anxiety seems to be better. Anyone else have this experience? Did it change over time?

Anyone really struggle with lectures? I find it challenging to do online trainings when I have to listen to an hour of a recording of someone talking over a PPT.

How much would a 30 day supply of Vyvanse (30mg) cost me after insurance? I know this is going to vary by plan but I'm still curious as to know how expensive of a medication this is.

My pharmacy informed me that the insurance will not cover without authorization from the psych. My psych was wary about this & instead suggested Ritalin during my session. He mentioned that insurance companies want us to first try Ritalin because they are generally cheaper. How much truth is there to this? Thanks!

Is anyone on a low dose of Adderall or a similar stimulant, and do you find it helpful/effective?

When I was diagnosed (at 20 yo) I started on Adderall XR and my psychiatrist essentially took a “keep upping the dose until you feel side effects” approach, even though I still saw some benefits at a lower dose. I’m currently unmedicated and am somewhat hesitant to restart, but feel I could see some benefit and better stability with the help of medication.
