Employer provides parental leave of 2 weeks for secondary caregiver. Just started exploring NY PFL. Looks like the eligibility is upto 12 weeks for New York employees. Pay can be a max of 100%. Wondering if anyone on H-1B has taken NY PFL previously. Any pros/cons/things to consider?

We are still waiting for our refund for 1040 efiled in March (still pending per where's my refund) but now realized we're not going to get the monthly child tax credit payments because "Your eligibility is pending." We qualify using 2019 or 2020 amounts (stay at home spouse).

We don't need it early, but have to imagine that countless others are in our situation but don't have the luxury of waiting. I've called IRS at least a dozen times since but never get through to an actual person.

PwC Fish - I’m considering where to have a baby, either the US or Austria (I currently live in Vienna, but thinking to move home to the US). What’s maternity leave in the US? How much does it actually cost to have a baby with our insurance? In Austria, I can take up to a year off, but only receive €2,000 a month from the government 😳… I don’t think there is any paid leave through the firm. Pregnancy through birth costs are pretty covered by insurance though. Would love your thoughts!

I booked an h1 stamping appointment in DEC 2019 but couldn’t go because of the onset of COVID (prior receipt number). I assume the fee is non refundable. Now, I’m trying to book an appointment (I moved out of pwc and using my latest receipt number) but the fee page already has a receipt number prepopulated against my name.
