Folks with GC can leave right away and just out of courtesy, some of them give notice of 2 weeks unless there is a clause that you have signed for them to apply your GC.
Small companies do get salty at times but they can’t do much about it with GC.. I have seen few people get GC at small companies and move to different companies right after few months but not sure about the 6 months you are mentioning, afaik you do need maintain healthy employment record for GC to citizenship conversion.. also if it were me, I would stay for a while like a year or so just to show the gratitude so that they can sponsor others as well in the future.

You’ll be fine. It seems like too good of an offer to pass up.
The way I look at it is, i’ve already put in x number of years into certain company. The GC “debt” is pre paid so even if I leave the day I receive my GC, i wouldn’t feel guilty or feel like it’s too soon.
Ive been with EY for 10 years, which explains my position.
Oh wow, yes at 10 years you already prepaid. The other thing for me is the company made me sign to stay with them for 3 years after GC or pay back everything they spend. I have no problem paying back but I'd rather leave in a few months and start making way more so I can pay them back because there no way I am staying another 3 years after GC. And whether I leave after a month or 2 years, I have to pay all back.
You can leave as soon as you have your green card on hand. The company can't do anything to you!
