Sister going through divorce with verbally abusive spouse, just received temporary judgement for custody of two year old and was awarded joint custody (she was anticipating she’d get sole custody). I'm a US citizen living abroad I applied almost 11 months ago for my spouse. Married for years, kid. I wait and wait. It seems this will take 2 years, maybe more. I feel trapped. Relationship is going pretty well apart from my partner being pretty unhealthy… I like to eat clean in general but she doesn’t like veggies and I’m a little fearful for our future family if she’s just encouraging them to “eat what you feel like” is there anyway to help change this behaviour? I’m terrible at making slides, I came from industry and don’t honestly feel much support from the practice I’m aligned in. The project I’m working on rn is working for another whole practice and feel like the sr director I’m working with is my saving grace. I’m also interested in working directly for him if I can.

How do I genuinely thank him for sticking with me and not giving up on me?

For the past 2 years I’ve felt like a shell of my former self. I know that I can be a good communicator, organized and hard-working etc. but I feel like I’ve lost all motivation to try. It’s really impacting my job performance as I am not able to be proactive anymore. It’s also affecting my self confidence as I feel like I’m not useful to my team. It’s hard to find motivation since it feels like a vicious cycle. Also feeling very self conscious applying for new jobs knowing I am like this :(
