I hate posting this, but I’m close to the point of desperation. After 2 decades of serving the community, our lil’ Imaging center closed it’s doors without notice, leaving me Unemployed. Started with a new law firm in a new practice area in the fall. Now I’m pregnant with my second child and due this summer. The firm offers up to 4 months of leave. I can’t think of a good reason why I would shorten my leave despite being relatively new at the firm and in the practice area. I’m honestly concerned I will resent it if I do. Would you shorten your leave under these circumstances? If so, why?

My son is three months old and our nanny is starting in January. I’m already anxious that my baby will start favoring her over me once I start working (and I work a lot). I plan to wfh at least 3 times a week, and to play with him when 1-2 times and during lunch during the day, but don’t want to annoy the nanny either. 10 weeks pregnant here and just have a OBGYN doc but reading so many positive reviews for when women also have a midwife. Nobody around me had a midwife and I am not sure how can I find one for myself. I want to be going to my OBGYN for ultrasounds etc and plan for a hospital birth but don’t understand how the midwife is going to fit in the picture. Any recommendations on how to find one who can work with me seeing both her and my OBGYN?
