Entering PwC as a director after several years in industry. I have a strong technical background and looking for resources to bolster my sales skills. Any recommended books/podcasts/etc focused on sales in professional services?

Some personal advice is ask to be in every pitch you possibly can. Make it clear you just want to observe and have no interest in the bookings or credit. Literal best way I learned after spending 5 years in industry before hopping in as a SM

Also, try some of these https://builtin.com/sales/sales-podcasts.

Sales (especially selling services) is very much focused on listening, relationship building, and most important, storytelling. Sharpen those skills if needed.

Curious how did you get to Director level with limited sales experience?

Thanks! Very helpful. Should have clarified - have experience in other big 4 and most recent experience in client Corp Dev functions, so not starting from scratch on the sales/client management bit, but rather recognizing that sales will be a critical component of success moving forward. Appreciate the suggestions!

I suspect I have ADHD. I show multiple symptoms but am wondering about one specifically.until my promotion to manager I was considered high performer. now am stuck and can’t figure out how to progress. I am very good in executing and repeating what I know but have major issues in shaping an approach or identifying new opportunities. And if I don’t know how to continue I am just staring at my screen or finding distractions. Can this be related to ADHD or is it maybe just time for a career change?

Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? And how would I be able to cross over to management?

I'm a corporate recruiter with 3 years of experience. Finishing my degree in HRM 5/2022. I'm thinking of getting my SHRM -CP shortly after graduation.

I'm not sure of where to go after that, but I doubt I will stick with recruiting or my current firm.

Has anyone here started off in recruiting and branched out to other HR functions? Do you like your new role? Do you wish you stuck with recruiting?

If not, why?

I'm in consulting now and recently got the opportunity to switch an APM role within TCS. This is for the new b2b product they are building, I interviewed and got selected. (No pay rise)

What are the possibilities of landing an apm role in a product company after a short stint with TCS? I don't want to stay in TCS after 5 to 6 months.

I like to use infographics as a leave-behind from my sales presentation. The flyers help my customers sell the solution up to management.
