Enterprise sales folk, can you share your experiences? Often mentioned as one of the best/ highest paying consulting exists, keen to know what it’s like and titles (Account manager?) and any tips to move from tech consulting

Account executive, key account director, field sales representative are the bigger ones at google.

It’s high paying IF you hit quota. I left tech sales for tech consulting for a more reliable take home pay.

I’d trust few consultants to exit directly to enterprise sales. Different skill sets

“Enterprise Account Executive” is industry standard but this is a more senior sales position. I am surprised consultants are able to exit into it.

Avg salary is ~250K (50/50 split). This is with you hitting your quota, enterprise deals take a long time though so you’d be on a rope with an avg salary. Source: husband is a VP on enterprise sales.

Is it expected that people who exit from MBB/Deloitte at post mba levels (PL/EM/M) take paycuts when going to industry? (non FAANG, PE). I'm In process at multiple internal consulting/strategy groups who say the paycut is part of the trade-off for less hours/no travel.

But as a female🐠, I can't discern whether this is just a negotiation tactic. Mentors have told me never take less pay.

For reference, this is at a comparable industry equivalent level (not clear up/down)

Company A is a good bit more superior in terms of exit opps and has better WLB and growth. I feel I’ll be happier at A. Thoughts?

1st year/stub in Texas. I was a summer at my firm in both 2019-2020. Thought I preferred litigation, and told the firm that last summer. Had a change of heart, and in April of this year asked the CTO to switch to transactional. However, she said they didn’t have a need for another junior in transactional. Now I’m in lit and hate it. Can I ask to switch again? When would be the best time to do so? Or should/can I lateral as a 1st yr? I like my firm, just don’t want to start my career like this

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.
