Hi everyone, I'm currently a BDR at SF for the french market. And I'm questioning my next steps. One of the two possible path ahead of me are:
- SmB AE
- Enterprise corporate sales ("Little AE" working in large account with a senior AE)
Which way seems to be more profitable for my next career plan ? (I'm a little bit tired of cold calling all day though.)
Should I stay at SF more few years or switch elsewhere ?
Thanks for your help ! Salesforce

Established company. With the looming recession it feels like the better option.

There are only 3 situations worth considering: 1) work for a large company in a position where senior management in enterprise/global accounts MUST meet with you. You help them succeed, you can add them to your Rolodex. 2) work for a compelling start-up that solves a vexing problem that executives are facing right now. This way they'll take your call/meeting because it hurts so much. 3) stay where you are until #1 or #2 show up.
Question is to open…what stage is startup? Have they validated product/market fit? Do they have revenue yet? Do they have positive operating margins? Are they bootstrapped or do they have VC funding? If VC, who are the players? What size “established” company are you looking at? What industry?
Depends if you’re up for a challenge. If you can keep up with the grind, startup is the way to go! Love the grind.
Startup , more opportunity to grow.
Also depends, if you are young or old.
Take the risk if you are young, if you have responsibilities and family that makes it difficult to go for startup
Hi! I'd personally go for an established company. With this economy, I wouldn't risk applying to a startup company.
I love the startup world. But it is definitely challenging sometimes. Regardless, wouldn't trade this ride for anything.
Startup too dangerous right now . Risk reward ratio not good enough . Maybe in a couple years
They have their own pros and cons. If you want a stable job, go for the established ones. If you want to take on challenges that will help you grow, choose a start-up company.
Startup!
