Ethiad vs Emirates? Likely getting staffed in the Middle East. Have a binary option for flights from North America. Which is better, and which points program is easier to redeem?

Qatar. One world. Qsuites. And unless you’re a big wig, I doubt you’ll get to book into Etihad’s First Apartment that often. Qsuites are arguably better than Etihad business if you’re booking business class. One World for sure.

like

First you need to know if you’ll be working in Qatar or any of the other countries. Getting from Qatar to Saudi Arabia or UAE is an ~8 hour journey as there are no more direct flights.

like

But isn’t Qatar trying to leave one world?

like

Etihad earns AA miles. Not elite qualifying, but a round trip in business will get you about 18K AA miles

like

And if they are asking Emirates vs Etihad, they’re going to UAE.

like

I like emirates because they tend to have more options. But you can also earn JetBlue miles from them. I’ve found emirates miles to not be that useful but I’ve also heard they have gotten better recently. But I prefer earning on JetBlue since they are very easy to use

Meaning that if you’ll be working in Qatar, Qatar Airways is your only true option. Similar to working in UAE and Saudi: Taking Qatar Airways is no longer an option. Makes life easier! :)

I'm a big fan of both actually, Etihad was a slightly better experience overall, but really comparable.

Saudia or Emirates

I like Emirates better in terms of overall experience. You get to earn on JetBlue and Alaska with Emirates

Qatar is out of the question. I’m based out of Canada. Any recommendations for partner airlines? I’m seeing TAP as a potential option if I want to vacation in Spain/Port. Also despite the fact that JetBlue doesn’t fly to Canada it does have good coverage in the US LATAM

OP, also based out of Canada. If YYZ - do you have Aeroplan? If so, Lufthansa, Turkish best options. If you have Oneworld - British is good. Is you are like me and have Skyteam stay away from Saudi Airlines as they don't serve booze. I tend to prefer AirFrance over KLM, but KLM flight attendants are friendlier.

Where in the middle east?

I’m in the same boat. Do you know how much a business class trip on emirates earns for JetBlue? I could either do Emirates or try and fly a delta or United Partner Airline. Emirates has nonstop options but for delta or United I would need a layover so I’m not sure it’s worth it. I’ve never accrued or used JetBlue miles tho...

I fly to India on emirates and i typically earn like 22k miles on JetBlue for a round trip in business.

This is the epitome of the American Society. Nobody reads (or listen) but they want to put their 2¢ in. Guys, OP is based out of Canada, makes no sense to talk about Jet Blue. *Rant over
