Etiquette question. My 4 year olds birthday is coming up, and she asked me to invite her teacher. I understand why she wants her there, but it feels like an invasion of her personal time. Am I overthinking, or do people actually do this? I wouldn't want to put her in a position of feeling like she has to because it's a student. What do people do?

I am based in Austin (4 YOE) and have an offer in hand for a permanently remote role (with a permanently remote team) in a MULA company for a pre-sales architect role. They don't want to give me written until I verbally accept (I read this is starting to be a thing?) but recruiter shared comp of $164k/$41k/$68k in base/bonus/RSUs (4 year cliff). The bonus is tied to an org sales quota and not individual.

What is the transition feasibility from in-house counsel to law firm. Really want to go into litigation. No bites on my apps. But randomly got something for an in-house counsel position where I’d be making $40-70k above an associate position. And that range just depends on the firm. Conflicted here.
