To begin the transition from technical to business ?

It's common to go to B-school straight out of college? I've never heard of this.

I worked in our B-School admissions office during my MBA (in USA). It is 100% NOT common to go straight out of college. It’s highly discouraged and most applicants straight from undergrad get rejected flat out. It’s recommended you have a minimum of 5 years work experience before applying. About 30% of our class was over the age of 35. Hope this clarifies expectations.

If you gaslight your direct reports with vague feedback and hustle culture energy, you should probably look inward and question why you’re a miserable human.

26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.

By close of eyes is not a reasonable time for any deliverable to be due. You work from home not 24/7. Let’s normalize standard working hours; if work isn’t done within eight to nine hours in day then it’s time for evaluate systems, if all those Zoom calls were necessary and staff utilization.

Dumb question, but how do you actually give notice to your firm when lateraling away? Do you email hr, or just tell the partners you work with and assume they'll raise it with the necessary people?
