Last night in the West Village, the NYPD created a situation out of thin air, escalated it, and made arrests. The only people blocking traffic in this video is the NYPD. Hundreds of them. Mostly maskless as they end any goodwill they had in this community

No point in dragging this thing out. We knew weeks ago what the result was going to be. Honestly, the bar really can’t go any lower after what we already saw this week.
Depends on the objective. My guess is that senate Ds had no interest in attenuating the trial by days or weeks and ending up in the same place. Senate Rs knew that and used a stipulation as an incentive to get the senate Ds to get the managers to move on.
If this was a real trial in which the outcome was in doubt and the proponent of the evidence wanted to win, no capable trial lawyer would agree to substitute a short, sterile stipulation for the live testimony of a witness who would have set off a bomb in the courtroom.
Guys. This whole thing was going nowhere.

Impeachment has never been about guilt; always political. Research Johnson's, Clinton's and both Trump trials.

I would’ve loved to see them call Trump under oath. But there was never going to be a conviction so this doesn’t make any difference. Trump has taken over the Republican Party and taken their integrity, courage, and honesty.
They’re not getting a conviction and witnesses aren’t changing the reality that Trump should be convicted, but won’t be.
