@K1: I love how you think implementation projects and UX design are inherently opposed. That's some seriously 1990s-era thinking there. @OP is close behind you, trying to draw a distinction between tech consulting and strategy consulting... If you think those lines haven't blurred, I don't even know which era you're in. 🙄

Well if it's an implementation project then liberal arts can take a hike. For fancy items like UX design liberal arts and most likely the author of the Forbes article can make a point. Then again .. you need to understand how binary logic works .. Liberals arts is about touch and feel.. Something like yoga ..feel the energy .. Spread some love.. all fluff.

@K1: If you think good UX is just about the UI layer, I have a couple of other courses you should take before making those kinds of comments...

Tech isn't real consulting though, that's tech, when I say consulting I,m talking management consulting and strategy consulting

@KPMG1 you should take a philosophy course in formal logic and report back

@D1: UX design and implementation are not opposed. They are different items. A liberal arts person can be easily UX designer- right brain centric. UX designs are more relevant on website designs. In major applications UX design has limitations and focus is more on functionality and clean UX rather than anything fancy. . @OP: many engagement teams have variety if different folks from all background to promote diversity and out of the box thinking. The Forbes article doesn't talk about strategy consulting . I assumed you are talking about actual software. Anyway I think you are trying to get towards where should you bet your career. I would say say find places where you can leverage your strengths whether its strategy , mgt consulting or tech consulting without the need to bluff the client. People will respect you for what you bring to the table.

BCG 1 : I will when I will have time and money.
