Ever had an interview where you vibed really well with 5 out of 6 of the interview panel, but one person you just could not get a good read on…. And then got offered the job?? I’m looking at moving districts. It’s my dream job, my dream school and everything about it was FABULOUS, but one person on the panel - I couldn’t get a read on whether she liked me or not? 🧐😣

Yes, and they were split and couldn’t decide so they flipped a coin. (Verified by a friend.) I lost. It was devastating, so I wouldn’t worry about it and I’d go enjoy my new job!

I wouldn’t worry about it. Accept the position and best of luck!

Haven’t gotten it yet but I am hopeful! Each of the interviews I’ve been on has been this scenario.. let’s see what next week brings!

I definitely understand. I had a panel interview last week and realized I only made consistent eye contact with one of them. Yikes! Good luck to you!

Go for it! They may end up being a great friend.

After a few long interview processes, I've learned that prior CPG experience is highly valued when entering any CPG industry (even in low- to mid-level roles). Can someone with experience recruiting in the space help explain the importance of the experience? Alternatively, would love to be able to "spin" my resume to help fill in the gaps that this lack of experience leaves.

BIPOC who started working in healthcare advertising and eventually were able to leave, how’d you do it? My spec book gets me interviews for junior and mid copywriter positions, but when they ask me what kind of work I’m doing at my current agency, the whole conversation goes south. They either become immediately disinterested, or beam up and suddenly the interview is only about an open pharma role, which is more frustrating because if I want to stay in health I’d go for copy supervisor roles.

Mentally exhausted in this career. Don’t always mind the hours but don’t find it fulfilling. I think tech is more interesting and operational. Offered an analyst role at 140k base/bonus (not including equity but not public so not factoring that in). It’s not my ideal company because it doesn’t seem like growth is exponential but people seem nice and role seems better than consulting - gotta start somewhere? Only done a few interviews so far though. Is it better to wait? Have <2 YOE.
