Same boat. I have toddlers and have been waking up in the middle of the night and browse my phone. My doctor mentioned it could be a sign of PPD. I think it’s more that I have a lot going on in my mind which causes me to stay up.
I sometimes have to leave my bed and start over in our guest bedroom or on the sofa, helps me get out of my head and reset the process of going back to sleep. I don’t know why but it works.
Cbd oil!
I had this issue and now listen to calming podcasts. It puts me right back to sleep within minutes. They have podcasts specifically for putting you to sleep!
I experienced this for about a year. My therapist at the time talked about good sleep hygiene. Sounds like you're doing most of the stuff - it may help to get out of bed when it happens so your body will stop associating your bed with everything but sleep.
I also tried a Sleepphones headband that eventually helped (I still use it now) and had a notepad nearby to do a brain dump when I woke up.
It may seem unlikely now, but it will eventually go away. Hang in there!
For me, cutting out coffee after 12 noon helped. Maybe try experimenting with coffee timings and quantities.
Ah, good old mom-xiety. I have it too - therapy helps but doesn’t solve

Melatonin gummy
I pulled coffee back to 1 cup in the morning and cut weekday alcohol completely. No food after 8pm and I take magnesium and 3mg of melatonin around 9:30 and am out. It solved it for me.

This happened to me when I had infants. If you can’t beat it, I wonder if you can make the most of that time. Would be kinda dope to be super productive in some way from 1:45-5am 🤣
Yeah I’m still waiting for it to change- my kids are 6 and 2 (twins). I can’t remember the last time I had a full night’s sleep and woke up rating to greet the day. Oh wait - it was before my first was born. It was stormy last night and one of the twins woke up so scared pf the thunder and lightning and wouldn’t leave my bed after that. It’s always something. So today I feel like something the cat dragged in. How’s that different from yesterday or the day before, you ask? Good point. I feel so crappy I didn’t even realize it’s not. I’m thinking if I can stick with it for just a little bit longer, say, 16 years or so, I’ll be an empty nester and be able to sleep again. Please tell me it gets better sleep-wise when they hit their teens - probably the only good thing?

Same thing happened to me. I also tried going to bed around 1am which worked sporadically (but sometimes I’d wake up again by 4am) but left me exhausted still.
I took some time off work and that seems to be helping. I haven’t woken up in the middle of the night for a couple of months now. Go back to work in a month, will find out if I wake up again. I’ll probably work during that time …
Try going to bed later? I struggle with sleep ever since having kids too but maybe take an extra hour in the evening for reading, relaxing, etc. and go to bed at 10 or 11pm. Also maybe journal or therapy if there’s things you have on your mind.
Same, I just read trashy novels (on my phone/night mode) and enjoy myself until I get exhausted. Highly recommend anything by Kevin Kwan.

Box breathing
Kids are 6 and 10 yrs old. I am writing this at 1:38am my time;) it happens to me at least three times a week
I have the same kind of insomnia and I tried everything. All that stuff about melatonin, sleep hygiene, meditation… none of it worked for me. I finally got treatment and medication for my anxiety and ADHD and that has helped more than any non-medical intervention. It’s worth a visit to your doctor and pushing for help bc you shouldn’t suffer.
This was me. I started taking melatonin. It has helped a lot
Thank you all so much for your inputs!! I’m going to see what I can do and report back. It could definitely be worsening from anxiety and coffee consumption. I picked up melatonin and am limiting coffee and will start there. Killer headache today.
Camomile tea seems to help me get to sleep and stay asleep through middle of night toddler antics!
