Just took time off because I had covid and my grandma passed away. Now my dad is in the ICU and looking rough. I want to crumble in a ball.
Anything notable to do before/right after putting in 2 weeks? Already transferred CPE to state website, will calc vacation pay out, will email myself all personal files. Anything else?
I’m transferring from one DT entity to another, two questions: 1) Any way to ask to be paid out for PTO? I have a lot.. 2) Does your utilization % transfer or do I start fresh? Thank you!
What's the best way to take advantage of DTO? Are there any benefits that you don't get from accrued PTO?
If you leave on your own terms is it reasonable to expect to be paid out for unused PTO days? And if so, how are those days paid out?
How do payouts work when you leave the firm? Like you have 20 days of unused PTO, will I get a check for 4 weeks of my current salary?
Reading all these posts about people spending time with their crazy families this holiday makes me feel more normal. Thought my family was the only crazy one! Thanks fellow FB, keep the stories coming
Is it a vacation if your boss emails every 10 minutes *around the clock*? Stupid me let IT install Outlook on my phone. PEOPLE. If you are in leadership, have the good sense not to email your team ‘round the clock. ESPECIALLY if your employees have been generous enough to use their personal phones to keep in touch. They need a break from work and a break from you. Every time your name pops up on their screen, it’s a micro PTSD moment. Put that shit in your outbox and send it in the morning.
How much leeway do you have when negotiating start dates? I would like to start in Jan since I save most of my PTO for the holidays. If I start in Nov/Dec I either won’t be able to take it or will start in a hole. Plus new job offers WAY less PTO (VP thought it was 10 days to start vs my current 25, but am currently waiting for formal offer from HR).
I have a meeting with my HR lead on Friday regarding my termination. What questions should I ask? This is what I have so far... severance pay, health insurance benefits, PTO payout, other roles at the company, and my 401k vesting period. Anything else I should ask/bring up?
Anyone have experience owning a vacation home you also rent a portion of the year? Thoughts? Strong rental history, newer home (early 2000s), 4 hour drive from main residence, lake, desirable area.
Did Netflix set the House of Cards release for tomorrow to prevent us from binge watching over the holiday weekend?
Former Deoitters: If you put in your two weeks notice and your final day is also a payday, did you receive your PTO payout on your last day, 2 weeks later on the next payday, or 4 weeks later?
*At project interview "What are some reasons why you would be a valuable asset to this project?" Me:
Has anyone implemented SAP S/4 Hana Stock Room Management (replacing WM)? I have a client going to 1909 and trying to decide if they will move to SRM or try to do a scaled down version of EWM.
You consultants have it good. Be thankful. Worst is when you're non-adv but still doing same work as adv. Getting crushed on compensation. :(
I’m getting a job offer in the next few days for a position that is perfect. But, 12 weeks pregnant. This has been a 4 mo. Interview process. I think I should disclose when I get the offer. Advice?
There is someone using a legitimate pneumatic drill across from my hotel in PHX. It’s 11.20. Any way to stop this happening? It’s surely noise pollution?
Is there a way where you can have a zoom lesson while doing an interactive pear deck? Is there a way to do a poll?
I’m what you’d call the “good kid” I always got to see the bad kids get away with stuff my whole life and I thought having a moral compass would pay off but a lot of times I feel jerks move ahead....
Double dipping on severance and paycheck from new job. Can former companies even find out that you have a new job if you keep quiet?
Looking for advice: how would you frame feedback to a recruiter/hiring manager who offered you a role after a terrible interviewing experience? Disregarding whether you accept the offer or not - is there a way to give feedback or use the situation to your advantage?
Anyone have a resource to share that lists must have/best practice website components (things such as an error page, image alt text, etc?) I need this for one of my teams because... (continue below)
Dear Diary 😉 Covid has made me even more weird than I normally am not to mention very lazy. Let’s see I wake up and just lay there for an hour doing nothing. Then I’ll do some quick naked yoga. Hop onto my first call. Then go take a shower in between meetings. Next onto my next call. In between there is a quick break to make coffee which I gulp in 3 mins flat. Then I FINALLY brush my teeth and do my eyebrows. Back on a call then I’ll put on clothes. Next I’ll scroll on social media aimlessly CON
Anyone have experience interviewing at a university for a staff role? What to expect? Virtual interview with the Manager, Director, and Recruiter. First round was a phone call with the Manager and she read out 5 typical interview questions.
For anyone who has gone client-side or is considering it, how have you handled the salary adjustment? Would love to make the switch but struggling with going backwards salary-wise.
Just saw someone got denied from a job after counter offering in the coronavirus workplace bowl so wanted to gain thoughts from you all. I received an offer today from a great company and am considering counter offering for them to meet me in the middle since the offer is 20k below my current base salary. I’d like to counter for 10k more on my base salary. Has anyone experienced salary negotiations recently and are they working out?
