Are sign-on bonuses gone forever?

Hi ladies, I need some advice. I know Public Accounting is not for me in the long run. I’ve seen the way this job impacts my managers and directors lives, and I definitely don’t want that for myself. However, I don’t know if I’m ready to leave just yet. The work is extremely stressful & pays too little but I like my team, & I really am learning a lot. I recently got a few opportunities to leave for significantly higher pay and am starting to wonder if its a good idea to leave now while I can?

Been in-house four years and managed to skip agency thus far. Considering next steps and really I’m happiest doing the work (hands-on print and visual design, brand work, etc.). Just moved. WWYD next?

How much do you help your children? I have two, one 27 and one 23. Paid for their college which is pretty standard. One wants a newer car and I hate the idea of the bank taking money for interest. Thinking of loaning them the money instead. A little jump start. Gainfully employed kids I will add. Thoughts ?

Friends season 2 rerun on. Chandler is excited about his new laptop which features "12MB RAM, 500MB hard drive". This was 1996, when I was in college studying computer science. Technology moves so fast but it's astonishing when you get to look at it from a time capsule like this... A 1300-2000% increase over 20 years, and we thought we were doing just fine back then. Crazy.

I'm in big law, but I've always been fascinated by mono e mono litigation. A friend from undergrad who ended up going to law school told me about a case he recently had in which he could get the plaintiff the backoff.

The matter involved a substantial amount of money that was lent for the purchase of a car outright. My friend's client was in his mid-twenties, and it was his uncle who lent him money. He leveraged his client potentially declaring bankruptcy to get a settlement.

Why would investing in firms with higher EBITDA margins be better? Operationally inefficient firms could theoretically have more room to grow and improve so wouldn’t there be greater opportunities there?

Do you have someone in your office/group that you just loathe? They’ve only been on good projects with strong project teams since they’ve started. I’ve gone to them for help in the past via a partners suggestion but came to find out they’ve had their hand held the whole time. How do you get past feeling jealous and annoyed because you work your ass off and are supposedly a top performer but still get put on shit projects with no help? Is it really just time to walk? Been here for 4 years.

How do you effectively network up when you already feel awkward in forced communications? I’m not afraid, but it feels weird to set up coffee chats when I’d so much rather meet leadership organically.

Just got rejected for a role in industry at a company I really wanted to work for. Feedback was that it doesnt look like the candidate has soft skills to report status to executives.
I'm livid because that's literally my job now...and I have gotten praised by multiple EP and EM on my executive presence.

I followed the heard from Consulting (Deloitte) to tech and I'm absolutely miserable. I want to boomerang but its been less then a year.
