Reverse discrimination, all the rage right now. Thanks Obama.
You only got into Stanford because you're black 💀💀💀
"OP finds real reason for Alpaca's extinction. Geologists hate him."
Tech chick here 💁🏼 - Same but I get "You only got this job because you're hot". Actually I graduated with high honors in engineering, f*** off, my resume is stupendous
Supreme Court just approved racial discrimination.
Affirmative action cheapens minorities' achievements. I've seen it first hand in the military. Women and minorities get about 50% more leeway to screw up. So when they make it, many people question whether they earned it or if it was given to them. If anything, affirmative action should be based on your parents' income and not race/gender. Diversity is good when it's not forced.
It's ignorant to say that race doesn't play a role in admission. But the fact that you graduated silences all critiques, you were clearly qualified to go. Unfortunately many schools just like our own firms seek to artificially boost diversity in order to increase their rankongs
"Diversity" - the new discrimination and racism.
This may be too radical of a thought for some of you all apparently but IT IS possible to be a woman/minority AND have the grades and tests scores to get in. Just throwing it out there.
Sorry being "hot" and being Black are NOT the same things... Great job trying to relate though 😒
^was that necessary? Let's also not forget that A LOT of other factors go into admissions. Athletes get preference as do Legacies, children of donors, professor's children etc. let's not kid ourselves in saying that admissions is solely about grades and gpa.
Schools do try to boost diversity, because a diverse campus is healthy and everybody benefits. They also use affirmative action to level the playing field.
As long as people get preferential treatment for their skin color, your achievements will continue to be discounted no matter how awesome you are.
People say that?
I realize it is not exactly the same - but I too get frustrated when people commonly falsely perceive me as less intelligent due to my appearance. A lot. Obviously maybe I don't fully get your perspective but maybe you don't fully understand mine either.
@EY1 I agree with you 💯. Don't discount my achievements due to my skin color and/or genitals. Please and thank you!
