the instant pot air fryer combo!

likesmart

same. Not sure Id call it a game changer but it’s the best way to cook tots at home! also, a total electricity suck.

like

If you expect it to be similar to deep fried foods, you will likely be a little disappointed. It’s basically just a small oven. We use ours for chicken strips and French fries all the time. Definitely not on par with fried foods, but an improvement on baking them.

Have one. The ninja air fryer. Beyond worth the purchase. Use it for a lot of foods. Bought off Amazon

like

Same! We use it every day!

Here’s our sweet potato recipe if you end up pulling the trigger on your air fryer!

Air fryers are just convection ovens with a different shape and name

like

Yeah I am p sure they are convection microwaves??

It’s very convenient for sausages, bacon, small roast chickens. Worth it in my opinion.

like

Are they worth purchasing?

like

Meh. They are just small convection ovens. If you are going to get one, I think it makes more sense to get one in combination with a difference appliance (toaster oven or instapot). What I like is that they heat up much quicker than a regular oven and don’t heat your house up that much. That being said, it’s not that great and everyone I’ve talked to eventually stopped using theirs. Mine is sitting in a cupboard currently.

like

I use it as an alt to a full-sized oven since I’m renting and don’t want to have to spend hours cleaning up an oven during move out and can take it with me wherever I go.

like

How are these any different than the convection bake setting on most modern ovens?

I love ours. I believe that ours is 6 quart, and I wouldn't suggest a smaller one unless you're only 2 people, because you'll need to make things in batches. It really is a game changer, though it's not exactly like deep frying food. It's great if you have people over (in non Covid times) or attend a lot of potlucks. Mine is GoWise and it's great. I also have an instant pot and bought the air fryer hat for it, and that works great, too.

I have a cuisinart toaster oven/air fryer thing. It’s good. It runs really hot (as opposed to my old toaster oven—so have to turn the temp about 75-degrees lower) Great having one appliance for toast/pizza/fries.

I just bought this one. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Ninja-4-Quart-Air-Fryer-AF100/144130992

Anyone else feel like being “encouraged” to take time off when things are slow is a bit disingenuous from leaderships. When I really need time off is when I am working 60 hour weeks back to back for 3 months Karen, not now during a week I’m unassigned.

I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.

Now, I am thinking to ask them to provide me onsite assurance(not now but at least in 6-12months), so as to compensate for the ctc difference. I know that account has onsite opportunities at my band. Is it a wise thing to ask the manager to give me onsite assurance in written so as to compensate for the CTC ?
