Does anybody have any advice when applying to postings with many applicants and getting noticed? The company I am interested in is Figma, and though I reached out to a few technical recruiters after applying through LinkedIn, I am wondering if there might be something more I could do that maybe I’m not thinking about. Also along those lines, if anybody here works for figma I would love the chance to connect

How many positions out of those 100 have you interviewed for?
Interesting. Is it possible you are asking for a higher range salary than the other candidates? I wouldn’t depend too hard on referrals or knowing someone. It can definitely help, but in the end you need to impress your interviewers and show how you can help them. All of my jobs since after college were done without knowing anyone to refer me. When it comes to the best liar part, I’ve seen that can pan out too, but they’ll probably get cut at some point.
I was in your position from Nov 2019 to this time in March of this year. I was at the end of my tether. I ended that time by biting the bullet and taking a lateral move that pulled me closer to what I wanted, an administrative role instead of the typical technician-type roles I had.
But to nab an interview, I had to strategize with the opportunity presented. My former co-worker/friend had fwd'd an email sent by a hiring team person fishing for referrals. I used her email to send my cover letter to her, a sign that I was 'netted' by her email. She mentioned to my now manager to check out my application (boosted applicants have a better chance). I was hella lucky my friend remembered me when this opportunity showed up. I am also very lucky to have gotten both a referral and a boost. But I had to quash my ego/expectations to a dry pellet to do it.
Additionally:
You may need to take a look at the the experience and certifications you have and if these match the job req description, take a hard look at that cover letter.
Are you hawking your transferable skills, coachability, openness to learning new systems, team building, and leadership and communication skills? Are you describing these things as assets to the departments and teams you want to join? You need to convince them that they are ahead by bringing you on.
Have you tried asking for development opportunities (temporary/contract work) within their company so you can be better prepared for the next opening?
Make sure they don't give you a 3rd party name like Adecco or Kelly Services-those representatives don't care if you were referred to them, especially if the referring company doesn't have a req open for the 3rd party to fill.
Best of luck out there, the hiring teams are all shooting the dark with their listings, imo.

Is it possible you're coming across a bit arrogant? theres a fine line between selling yourself and acting better than everyone else 🤷♀️
