Last year I had no work, couldn’t make payments on the house and had to defer them through the Covid program. The week before I sold the house I was $90,000 in credit card debt, had $600 in the bank, and had to borrow money from my parents for groceries. Now I sold the house, and literally have $1,000,000 cash in the bank. I can’t tell this to anyone I know but I have to tell someone.
Has someone’s parents/family back in India been able to get the COVID vaccine? I am trying to get my parents registered to get the vaccine but cannot get the COWIN website to work. Anyone else faced the same issue? Looking for some help. Thanks!
Government help for freelancers during this COVID-19 situation. Is there anything that will help us?
So two weeks ago, my friend returned from India and took a Covid test five days later that came out as negative two days later so I met her. But just 36 hours ago, her husband, who is fully vaccinated, started experimenting drowsiness, nausea, fever, body pain and stomach knots. No one else who’s met with my friend is showing any symptoms though. What is the likelihood that this is Covid?
I kicked dirt in ants' hole for no reason. Then I thought, what if God's like this. Our two species can't communicate, but he's like "I'll give them COVID and watch the humans scatter." just cause. 🔎
Looking to make the move from accounting firm, currently at a big4, to a law firm. I am a JD/LLM and a new manager in big4. Any suggestions on networking with COVID, recruiters, etc.? Also interested in hearing experiences of others that have made the move.
What's a funny/creative acronym to use for this school year? I'm going with CFS to represent this Covid F'ing Situation!
Very specific question - Canadian and European spouse travelling to Canada from Europe. However, spouse’s ETA not approved. Embassy told us all we need is proof of marriage and my citizenship (CDN passport) to travel. Asked embassy about ETA and they said “we don’t have an answer you should be fine”. Anyone with experience dealing with this during COVID? Should we try and fly?
My anxiety has been relatively constant during this whole wfh covid situation so I haven’t been wanting to be intimate with my partner as often. They said its bringing down their mood, any advice?
Honest question for 🐠 who are back to non-WFH environment... does anyone else feel going to office/client site has helped their marriage?
It seems me and the wife fight less now that I am not at home 24/7... I also think I appreciate her more now than during the height of COVID WFH.
This is what people in NYC or order dense urban areas need to think about https://medium.com/@jurgenthoelen/belgian-dutch-study-why-in-times-of-covid-19-you-can-not-walk-run-bike-close-to-each-other-a5df19c77d08
Anyone do improv? I’m moving to NYC in a couple months and I’m curious what the scene out there will be like post-covid, and when classes will be opening back up.
I'm going to wrap up my project early due to COVID, and am about to hit the bench. At my level I see the Empty pipeline. My MD has told me repeatedly to stay staffed no matter what. (Cont'd)
Aaaand the covid infested hearings carry on
Who else got really drunk and ate a lot halloween? No regrets cuz I did enjoy myself but I did post my first pic during covid and got complimented for looking like I lost a ton of weight which is nice but probs also just gained it back.
Those of you who have went from having no car to having a car in the city...do you have any regrets? Even before Covid, I’ve often felt so “stuck” without a car, but I‘ve always been too cheap to seriously consider it. (Should mention that I don’t travel much for work, so that might make a difference in answers in the bowl.) Is it life changing!?
Anyone wanna give me a makeover? Virtually? Tips on hair, makeup and clothing?
6 months of covid quarantining has ruined my style.
What is your experience with covid test turnaround times?
Is getting results by Sunday night too optimistic if I get tested on Saturday? I know some places are quick, but I worry the weekend might slow them down
It’s amazing how many people don’t know the difference between a hyphen and an em dash. It’s simple punctuation rules!
What age did you make manager at?
What is the comp for a BCG Principal in FI? Discussions underway. Currently a 3rd year SM at a big 4 Management Consulting practice
Offices are awful. Closed environments where you lose control over your time, your body, and your life. Any time not spent there is spent recovering from being there. I’ve never been in a good one.
Last day in PA! Leaving B4 Advisory for a strategy & finance role at a tech company. Couldn’t deal with the PA life anymore but I appreciate all FB’s advice along the way.
1 page vs 2 page resumes? Im hearing good arguments for both sides. I'm usually against 2 pages but some say it's ok if you have over 5 years of experience.
Is it weird to reach out to alumni of mba programs that work at my firm to get their perspective on the school and application process? Only really finding out about their mba from linkedin
I’ll just say it...there should be NO exception to bar passage as a requirement to practicing law.
Anyone know about the major Aerospace & Defense contractor’s LDPs? Post MBA level. Looking for info on responsibilities, comp, rotation locations, and program exit level. Thanks!
Are all firms actively recruiting?
What’s the deal with English text on the dials of Swiss and Japanese watches? Shouldn’t some be German, French, or Japanese? I would expect them to either all be in the language of the country of origin, or else to match the market they’re sold in.
I’m sure non-English watches exist, but if you load Rolex or Omega’s German websites, they’re still selling English-dial watches. Is there a history here?
When people say P&L roles, what do they mean?
I am looking for the job in HR profile, please suggest me leads regarding the same.
Thanks in advance.
Is anyone else watching attrition rise? I’m noticing across my projects and teams that people are burned out or looking at other opportunities. Curious what from folks are doing to support their teams, while trying to do deliver project work. I’m finding it hard to push people to deliver while recognizing they are mentally exhausted.
How do I know if private equity is a good fit for me? Should I do DD projects and see if I like them? I know the $$$ will be good; just want to see if I’ll actually enjoy the work.
Anyone feel like USAJOBS couldn’t be a worse system? I’ve been thinking about switching from contractor to gov and even with six years of experience the requirements for most positions are so convoluted it’s hard to determine if I’m qualified.
