Ex consultant, currently in PE port ops. Hate the constant stress and long hours. Still like the paycheck. Any recommendations on exits that would still be high paying with less stress?

BCG is pretty low stress tbh.

funny

Generalist consulting. Lots of industrial goods operations work by choice.

How bad is the stress and the long hours? Currently evaluating a VP level role at a major PE shop. Exit opportunities can be a lot - you can move into industry and back into consulting if you want.

What are y’all doing from 8:30 - 12?? Like what kinds of work streams ?

Where are you? That’s surprising as I’ve heard that portco ops is generally less stress and better wlb than consulting given that it’s longer time horizons and not client serving

like

I believe you answered your own question here: your responsibilities extend past what you typically see in portco ops at other funds if you are also helping/leading investment teams with DD on live deals.

Would it be fair to assume the majority of your stress is coming from supporting DD vs. working with portco execs on strategy & ops?

If so, you could lateral to another port co ops team that primarily focuses on the operational side, which could then translate into a C-suite role at a PE-backed company in the long run.

Best of luck!

A&M PEPI if you’re interested in returning to consulting 😊. Otherwise folks might say corp dev

What level would you say people like me would come in at?

What do you consider "high paying"?

Im at that level as a 2nd year SVP, 45-50 hrs a week on average.

Can i ask you average TC as PE ops role as an associate?? I have an interview coming for MM PE (Data&Operation&strategy role) JD says supporting DD work as well.

Got it. sounds like manager TC from strategic consulting firms. Are you not getting carried interest at all?

Last week I had an idea and I started checking the web to see if there are any startup on the market that already offer this service. There is just one and it raised 1,4M€ in Feb 22’ from a fund (The startup in question is developing the platform, which is not usable right now). My question is what should I do? Continue to believe in the idea or give up? Sorry for the dumb question but just to understand if it has any sense to pursue something that is already being developing by another startup

I’ve been searching for an in-house role for about three and a half months now. I’ve had many recruiter phone screens, several interviews and rounds of interviews with different companies. Still waiting on two to decide but it’s taking forever.

I’m so ready to transition and am getting a little discouraged by the search. 6 YOE, litigation, interviewing only for claim litigation and/or coverage roles.

Is this normal? Any advice? Thanks in advance!

What is a good base salary and total compensation package minimum for a Senior Clinical Program Manager position in PA? Bachelor's degree, 5+ years of Healthcare experience, 3+ years of outreach activities and quality initiatives, insurance plan experience, 3 years experience managing a pcp office. Would be first role at this level.

I work for a tech company that pays 100k tc plus 50,000 stock options. I have great work life balance, work 4 days per week on a 32 hour schedule plus it’s remote. Lately, I’ve been feeling like the compensation is on the lower end and just wanted to see if it’s in line with industry standards

Does compa ration depends on YOE or just based on job level?
