Ex healthcare workers in Tech/Sales Engineering/ Healthcare consulting;
I have my masters in nursing/FNP (1 yr) making <K70 (Indiana) due to low patient census in my role. No desire for a different FNP job nor to return to bedside nursing (RN 5 yrs). I have heard of some individuals with remote positions making >K100 with little to no experience in tech or consulting after doing a boot camp or cert?
If you pivoted; What’s your current role/ Income & what did you do to complete the transition?

I would consider the following. Pharmaceutical sales, the pay is excellent and great interaction. Selling in consumer sales or OTC, to general practitioners (GP, NP, pharmacists, etc), or specialty sales or biologics sales (to specialists), the key account managers (selling to matrix networks in hospitals). I just listed those roughly from lowest to highest pay. There is also the option of medical sales in pharmaceuticals as a MSL or Medical Science Liaison roles where you are responding to healthcare practitioners questions or concerns to a medical information request. Presenting data for unique populations or for off label use etc. Even more lucrative in the long run is clinical roles in clinical trials and or medical device sales, or med tech sales. These territories can be larger at first but very lucrative plus lots of perks like cars or car allowance, gas cards, car insurance, etc. I don’t think you would need to re-certify at all. I work with a lot of nurses in Pharma and they are all stellar. Feel free to DM me if you would like more info.

I’m 25, have 3 years of experience, and get paid $59k/year.

Additional Posts in Salaries In Sales

Recently moved into Tech Sales. Frustrated with my Salary (32K base/year, negligible bonus potential of a few K). Was making ~3K/week on average in my previous role which was commission only, no base. Feel like I am completely wasting my time and potential. Saw the cut as necessary evil initially in order to move into tech sales and make multi six figure commissions later on with potential to reach 7 figures in total comp. At least my current role is with enterprise accounts which. Thought?

What would it take for you to leave a company? I just asked for a raise at my current job and they’re assessing. i was not looking to change jobs. However, a recruiter reached out to me with a very compelling offer: I’m remote now, this is hybrid (2-3 days/week), with a 45 - 75 minute commute each way. BUT right now my base is $85k OTE of $120k. This is $130k / OTE $300k plus. I asked for $125k from my current boss - they wouldn’t be able to make the uncapped $300k OTE tho. Should I take it?
